Queensland Off-The-Track proudly introduces Clem Smith as a QOTT Acknowledged Retrainer.
At the age of 18, Clem stated breaking-in and training horses as well as campaigning showjumpers. Clem is one of Australia’s leading showjumping riders and has been competing successfully for decades, with notable performances both in Australia and New Zealand. Clem has had 6 career World Cup wins, multiple Queensland State and Country Showjumping Title wins, been the Equestrian Queensland Sports Star of the Year and a team member of the Equestrian Queensland Senior State Team at Nationals for the last 10 years.
A very experienced horseman, Clem has worked closely with the racing industry throughout his career. He has broken-in and pretrained many horses over the years and still does to this day, breaking-in over 60 thoroughbreds for Craiglea Stud alone. In addition to campaigning off the track horses in showjumping, Clem has retrained and rehomed over 40 retired racehorses, which showcases his great experience with thoroughbreds and his dedication to assist with their transition to their post-racing lives.

Clem has long been an accredited Equestrian Australia Level 1 Coach and he coaches extensively throughout Australia and New Zealand.
