Courses

Training in Tasmania is designed to support individuals in developing the skills, knowledge and qualifications needed for employment and career progression across a wide range of industries. It is delivered through the vocational education and training (VET) system, including apprenticeships, traineeships and nationally recognised courses provided by approved training organisations.

Eligible training may be subsidised by the Department of State Growth through Skills Tasmania. Skills Tasmania works with industry, employers and training providers to help ensure training aligns with workforce needs and addresses skills shortages across the state.

Training pathways are available for school leavers, job seekers and existing workers looking to develop new skills or transition into a different career. Apprenticeships and traineeships also provide opportunities to earn while completing nationally recognised training.

More information about training programs, funded qualifications and eligibility requirements is available on the Skills Tasmania website.

Apprentice and Trainee Training Fund

The Apprentice and Trainee Training Fund provides grants to eligible Registered Training Organisations to subsidise the cost of delivering training, assessment and associated learner support services to Tasmanian apprentices and trainees.

The fund supports the attraction and completion of apprenticeships and traineeships, helping learners become job-ready while meeting the needs of industry and employers.

Am I eligible for subsidised training?

To be eligible for a training place under the Apprentice and Trainee Training Fund, you must be an apprentice or trainee with a registered training contract in Tasmania. Eligible learners may include new or existing workers, school-aged learners and previously qualified apprentices or trainees.
