RACE TWO

SCORCHED (3) was buried in the run last start after starting from position 1 and was solid to the line chasing home to grab 4th. That followed a nice effort from the 2138m mobile when only 7m from the winner QUIETLY SPOKEN. He looks to get every chance here and can throw down a challenge.

LANSBURY (1) has taken on the open performers in recent starts and 3 starts back found the line nicely for 3rd to MAYBETOTHEMAX. She didn’t have much luck last start when chasing all the way and only beaten 13m behind IVANOV and meets him 30m better off in this. She looks well placed.

EL SWAVO (2) is a good beginner normally and from the front tape can look to take the early shot to find the pegs. He finished best of the rest behind a big winner last start and will be right in the fight.

IVANOV (8) made the most of conditions last start and with his customary brilliant start was in control and never gave them a chasing chance. His manners can see him overcome the handicap.

SELECTIONS: SCORCHED (3), LANSBURY (1), EL SWAVO (2), IVANOV (8)
SUGGESTED BET: SCORCHED (3) to win

RACE THREE

KEY LARGO (1) held on for a placing last start after finding the pegs and then releasing from a strong challenge by eventual winner MARETTI. That was off a shot back-up from a 2nd division qualifier where he worked hard in the run and fought gamely. With the speed to lead he will look to dictate.

BALLYMORE BOY (6) started off the 2nd line last start and finished best of the chasing pack behind the big winner MARETTI who was all power in slick time. The start prior he did plenty of work when fighting to be 6m from COURAGEOUS LEO. With a an ounce of luck this is well within reach.

PAY ME INTEREST (2) hit the line strongly here 2 starts back behind LISA LINCOLN. From the gate she can look to drop down for a cheap trip behind the likely leader and with that in mind can feature.

THAT’S HOW WEROLL (5) took on a qualifier last start and used the passing lane to get within 2m of the winner and claim the silver. His previous 3 were all from wide gates and he can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: KEY LARGO (1), BALLYMORE BOY (6), PAY ME INTEREST (2), THAT’S HOW WEROLL (5)
SUGGESTED BET: KEY LARGO (1) to win

RACE FOUR

OHOKA PUNTER (2)
was sent forward to the breeze from the 2nd line last start and was fighting hard to finish mid-field behind SAMS A CHAMP. That followed a similar run from the same gate when 3rd to BODHI TREE in strong time and with his best gate in some time gets his chance.

OUR HI JINX (1) is approaching 12 months since his last victory but does look to get a good chance in this from the gate. 3rd in the Be Good Johnny Sprint 4 starts back his next run was a solid effort. He was tracking home well last start and finding space in time can make start 100 a memorable 1.

SMOOTH SHOWGIRL (6) was too strong from the front in a mares race 4 starts back and then went within a pimple of victory in the Qld Cup. Forget her last start when striking trouble, she is a big threat.

REMEMBER THEM (3) was taken back last start from gate 6 and once back in the pack was always facing a task to make up the deficit. He has the early speed to find the pegs which opens the options.

SELECTIONS: OHOKA PUNTER (2), OUR HI JINX (1), SMOOTH SHOWGIRL (6), REMEMBER THEM (3)
SUGGESTED BET: OHOKA PUNTER (2) to win

RACE FIVE

LINCOLN ROAD (3) has found his rhythm putting together a hat-trick of victories. Sent forward from gate 5 over the 2138m 2 starts back he was able to find the pegs and packed too many guns. On the back-up from Friday where he looked well placed, he can roll forward to take control of this.

NOVENA ROSE (1) attacked the line strongly last start after being buried away in the run and went within a head of victory behind OUTLAW FELLA. Her previous 2 starts had seen her strike trouble in the run and with the options from the gate will get the perfect trip to offer a closing challenge here.

THE MUSE (2) grabbed the bronze behind LINCOLN ROAD over the 2138m here 2 starts back and last start didn’t have much luck in transit. With the pegs an option for a soft trip she can chime in late.

MY MASTERCRAFTSMAN (7) has been devoid of luck in recent starts and been working home strongly in those runs. Off the Saturday back-up where he looked a solid chance, he is in the fight.

SELECTIONS: LINCOLN ROAD (3), NOVENA ROSE (1), THE MUSE (2), MY MASTERCRAFTSMAN (7)
SUGGESTED BET: LINCOLN ROAD (3) to win

RACE SIX

FUTURE FUN (6)
broke his maiden tag last start when pressing forward to find the pegs and take control over the Redcliffe 2040m trip. The writing was on the wall for the win after successive 2nd placed runs. The wide gate makes it tricky but with the winning confidence can back it up.

MY MAGIC MERLIN (1) added another placing last start when working in the breeze and holding on for 3rd. Still searching for a win this season that has produced 14 placings including the past 4 in succession, he gets the chance for an easier run in front after working in recent runs.

MINION GIRL (2) will strip fitter from her latest start when 1st up in almost 2 years. Missing all of her 4YO season, she returned in a Gold Pot heat and can be thereabouts in this field.

MONTANA EXPRESS (7) took on a Gold Pot heat last start and was a long way back trying to make late ground. Still having his share of issues, look for him working home strongly.

SELECTIONS: FUTURE FUN (6), MY MAGIC MERLIN (1), MINION GIRL (2), MONTANA EXPRESS (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

JUSTALITTLE TORQUE (8) will need some factors in her favour but following out a smart starter looks to find a perfect run in transit. Using the passing lane to finish a 2m 2nd behind GOLDEN YEAR here 3 starts back she followed that with a luckless run. Going around on Friday, she will be ready to strike.

JUST DEAL IT (3) was a debut winner when doing everything right and making a winning charge to arrive in good style for victory. Starting fav last start over the mile she was locked in traffic and never had a crack at them, running into dead-ends. With better luck she can produce late.

PINUP BOY (1) started from inside the 2nd line last start and was tracking home hard to get within a half-neck of victory. That followed a 5m 2nd to TUESDAYS FELLA and from the gate will be gripping on.

SOMWHEREOVARAINBOW (4) has started 3 times since returning from a break and shown gradual improvement. He fought hard last start form the breeze and can be in the mix once again.

SELECTIONS: JUSTALITTLE TORQUE (8), JUST DEAL IT (3), PINUP BOY (1), SOMWHEREOVARAINBOW (4)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-4-8

RACE EIGHT

JACKS AT THE BEACH (6)
started from gate 7 last start and made an error that saw him banished to the trials. Given a freshen, he earned his race ticket back with an impressive Redcliffe trial in strong time. The return to AP will work in his favour and in an open contest can look to cash-in.

HARD TO HEAR (12) was working home wide off the track last start and there was merit in the way he found the line in strong rate behind STEVIE DEE. Prior to that he had been meeting much stronger opponents than he faces here and from the tough draw can look to work home in the closing stages.

CAESARS ASTRUM (1) was a winner here 6 starts back when starting from this same gate, finishing strongly to arrive for the prize. No closer than gate 7 at her next 4 starts, the improved gate is a big plus.

ARBIT MAJOR (8) was hitting the line in good style last start to grab 4th behind STEVIE DEE. His run 2 starts back was full of merit behind LINCOLN ROAD and with a slice of luck can feature in this.

SELECTIONS: JACKS AT THE BEACH (6), HARD TO HEAR (12), CAESARS ASTRUM (1), ARBIT MAJOR (8)
SUGGESTED BET: HARD TO HEAR (12) each-way

RACE NINE

LEXUS ON THE BEACH (1)
was sent forward from the 2nd line here 3 starts back and findng the breeze held on for the bronze. He has taken on much stronger races at his past 2 starts with the latest a tough effort when under 2m from the winner. Hustling to hold the pegs he looks to get his chance.

KETUT (2) was buried away on the pegs here 3 starts back and was attacking the line hard to finish 2m from the winner ITS JUST KENNY. He made an error at his next run and looked well placed to finish in the money on Sat night. From the good gate he can throw down a strong challenge.

COMIGAL (8) released the front last start in a mares race and was strong to the line to hold the bronze when 3m from DARKERSHADEOFPALE. Her run 2 starts back was solid and with the soft trip has claims.

LANCELOT BROMAC (10) hasn’t been far away in recent starts and with even luck can chime in late here. 8m from the winner last start he may have been closer with better luck and 2 back was only 2m from the winner.

SELECTIONS: LEXUS ON THE BEACH (1), KETUT (2), COMIGAL (8), LANCELOT BROMAC (10)
SUGGESTED BET: LEXUS ON THE BEACH (1) to win
