RACE TWO

ROCK WITH SAM (4) had been building towards a victory after 3 runs back from a break and when 3rd up was really attacking the line with gusto when 9m in arrears of BODHI TREE in some slick closing panels. That was franked with a sharp win last start and from the gate can go back-to-back.

GLENFERRIE HOOD (10) has been kept fresh since the Qld Cup where he set the tempo over the 2138m and only faded in the latter stages when 7m in arrears of COLT THIRTY ONE. His run in the Christmas Cup the start prior was full of merit when buried and looking for space and despite the tough gate is right in this.

MACH ALERT (11) was fighting hard in the Qld Cup to grab 4th after doing some early work to find position and then still offering in the stretch. With the right cart home, he can feature in this.

SEEUINNASHVILLE (1) was forced to do plenty of work last start when pressing forward from gate 7 to get to the breeze and wasn’t far away. That followed a hat-trick of wins and with the peg-line benefits can chime in.

SELECTIONS: ROCK WITH SAM (4), GLENFERRIE HOOD (10), MACH ALERT (11), SEEUINNASHVILLE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: ROCK WITH SAM (4) to win

RACE THREE

With his best work done when able to light the lamps, RANDOM TASK (1) lands the gate to maximise his chances here. Last start he covered plenty of track when wide for a long way and was still giving on the line when 2m away. 2nd to TULHURST SANTANNA the start prior, he looks to get every chance.

AINTNOBETTOR (3) sat back off a strong tempo last start and was able to finish over the top, running past them to score an easy 9m victory. 2 starts back from gate 9 he was working home strongly to be 4m from the winner and after a string of wide gates, can look to optimise off the improved alley.

FEEL THE REIGN (2) looked to take them all the way last start over the 2138m and was in front deep into the stretch when nabbed up the passing lane. A qualifying win is proving elusive, but he is in the mix again.

BEEF CITY BLAZE (8) chased home in a stronger mid-week event on Tuesday to grab the bronze behind MACEY JAYDE when 3m away. Effective when saved for a closing shot, he will be coiled and ready to strike.

SELECTIONS: RANDOM TASK (1), AINTNOBETTOR (3), FEEL THE REIGN (2), BEEF CITY BLAZE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: RANDOM TASK (1) to win

RACE FOUR

LIVING GRAND (1)
will need to show some early hustle but if he does enough to protect the poles without over-cooking it, he will be in a great position to lead throughout. Forced to grind it out in the breeze last start over the mile, his run the start prior was meritorious. He can look to dictate here.

FEELINGFORAMIRACLE (9) rolled forward to find the breeze last start from gate 6 and only faded in the closing stages when 9m from the winner LIVE ATOM. Not suited the start prior when locked away on the pegs and firing up in transit, he gets into this nicely and can throw down a challenge.

RUNFORTHEROSES (4) faded here on Tues when setting a hot tempo in front over this trip. That made it successive starts where she has caved after leading and if limiting the burn, she can bounce back.

COBBLER LANE (8) was sent to the breeze last start after starting inside the 2nd line and the early work took its toll. 3rd up from a break here, he will be probing for a gap and can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: LIVING GRAND (1), FEELINGFORAMIRACLE (9), RUNFORTHEROSES (4), COBBLER LANE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: FEELINGFORAMIRACLE (9) each-way

RACE FIVE

This shapes as a tough race to pull apart with plenty of speed off the front and many of these running well but not in winning form of late. THE BUS (10) resumes from a break after fading late after cutting the breeze last start. Not far from SAMS THE MASTER the start prior and with 2 sharp trials to open the pipes, he can arrive late.

CLARRY (5) eased back from gate 4 to find position last start and was strong in the closing stages when 6m in arrears of ROCK WITH SAM. Luckless the start prior when locked away on the pegs after easing back from gate 5, he might need to do some late work in this, but is right in the fight.

BALLERINA COURU (2) was a winner here 3 starts back when taking them all the way from gate 3 to set a new career PB. Not suited from wide gates her next 2, she can bounce back with the improved alley here.

CLARKEY (11) has been thereabouts in recent starts with a placing in 3 of his past 5, the latest when charging home in the closing stages to be 4m from the winner. With a cart-home he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: THE BUS (10), CLARRY (5), BALLERINA COURU (2), CLARKEY (11)
SUGGESTED BET: THE BUS (10) to win

RACE SIX

TUESDAYS FELLA (2) started from gate 10 last start and was charging home in the closing stages over the mile to get within a neck of victory behind IFOUNDTHEBEACH. After 4 runs back from a break he should be approaching a fitness peak and with early hustle can look to dictate here.

ARTISTIC SAINT (4) has faced the starter 4 times now following a break and since arriving in Qld with the Adam Sanderson yard. His numbers might not point to much, but he is going better than what they suggest and has faced some tough gates at his past 3. He lands the gate and looks an improver.

GREGS LEGACY (9) made an error last start and was banished to the trials for his wayward antics. Earning the return, if he can settle close enough in transit and gets it right, this would be within reach.

GOES BOOM (1) has started twice since arriving in Qld with the Dixon stable. His last start was sound despite finishing down the line and stepping up here, lands the peg-line benefit to off-set the class rise.

SELECTIONS: TUESDAYS FELLA (2), ARTISTIC SAINT (4), GREGS LEGACY (9), GOES BOOM (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

The 2nd of two Aspirational events on the card and this looks just as tricky as the first. Leaning into ALE ALE KAI (10) who despite landing the 2nd line, might just get the right run to arrive. Down the line last start in a mares qualifier, she was in the money her previous 5 in succession, including a passing lane 3rd in the Redcliffe Christmas Cup. Just needs a rub of the green in transit.

CALLMEDEAMARO (3) has shown improvement in recent starts with his latest run a tidy effort when hitting the line strongly from back in the pack to grab the silver after starting from gate 10. Showing early hustle before releasing the start prior when beaten an eyelash, he can feature in this.

LITTLE BOLT (5) is racing well without much luck going his way, his latest start when buried away from an inside 2nd line gate. Finding early position will be key to his chances, but he is in the mix.

RIVERLEIGH JEFF (11) doesn’t have any favours from out the back but he is in nice touch of late with a last start 3rd following a hat-trick of victories. With the right run he can be chiming in late.

SELECTIONS: ALE ALE KAI (10), CALLMEDEAMARO (3), LITTLE BOLT (5), RIVERLEIGH JEFF (11)
SUGGESTED BET: ALE ALE KAI (10) to win

RACE EIGHT

KILLARA KAOS (1) was 2nd up in Qld for the Dixon stable last start where he was sent forward from gate 5 to take up the lamp lighting duties in a sub 27 opener. With a slight breather in the 2nd split, the tempo was dialled up again and he had bullets to fire in a 5m victory. He can dictate again.

HARD TO HEAR (3) is flying in recent weeks and just needs an ounce of luck in the run to go his way and he can be winning this. Last start from gate 11 he was wide out when working into the contest and found the line strongly when 3rd behind DAPPER. His runs have been super from bad gates and the improved alley helps his cause.

FLYING WINGARD (5) started from inside the 2nd line last start and securing the pocket trail chased home to grab the silver. Not suited from wider off the 2nd line his previous 2, he can chime in here.

HES NOVAK (11) was a narrow Tamworth winner 2 starts back and followed that with a narrow defeat at the same track. He can look for the pegs and with a cheap run be chiming into the exotics.

SELECTIONS: KILLARA KAOS (1), HARD TO HEAR (3), FLYING WINGARD (5), HES NOVAK (11)
SUGGESTED BET: KILLARA KAOS (1) to win

RACE NINE

MAYBETOTHEMAX (6) started from this same mark last start when sent forward over this trip to find the front. Looking to see it out he was grabbed in the closing stages to be under 3m from the winner. With a minimum 10m advantage over what look the main rivals, he can stay in front of them and capitalise.

QUIETLY SPOKEN (8) sat back on the pegs last start and waited for the gaps to arrive and when they did, utilised her closing speed to sprint late to victory. That followed a 2nd over this same trip behind FOURSHARESMOREBEERS and saved for the closing shot can be charging home.

OUR OVERANOVA (10) has the 50m to overcome, but over the longer trip he can never be ruled out. Only 4m in arrears last start when closing out strongly, he will be thereabouts again here.

BLACK VALLEY (1) made a mess of the start here 2 starts back under similar conditions and after being buried in the run was finding the line in good order. If he can step cleanly, he can utilise the 20m advantage in the early stages.

SELECTIONS: MAYBETOTHEMAX (6), QUIETLY SPOKEN (8), OUR OVERANOVA (10), BLACK VALLEY (1)
SUGGESTED BET: MAYBETOTHEMAX (6) to win

RACE TEN

PAY ME INTEREST (10)
has some ordinary numbers next to her name, but the effort has been there without the reward in recent outings. From gate 12 over the mile last start, she was a long way back and hitting the line in good style, running some smart closing panels. Forget her previous start when striking trouble, she is worth a chance in an open mares contest.

SAINT KILDA BEACH (5) started fav from inside the 2nd line here 2 starts back and was quickly in bother when the 1 horse was crossed. Sent around to the breeze instead of waiting for the luck, she was game in holding on for the bronze. Luckless last start from gate 7, she can bounce back here.

CHINOOK WINDS (9) went to the pegs last start to look for the cheap runs but didn’t get the cleanest passage and should have been closer than the margin suggests. Trailing through early she has claims.

OUR DELIGHT (8) will need some luck in transit but if the gaps arrive in time, she can be pouncing on them late. Kept fresh since her last start where she found the speed a bit too hot, she won’t be far away in this.

SELECTIONS: PAY ME INTEREST (10), SAINT KILDA BEACH (5), CHINOOK WINDS (9), OUR DELIGHT (8)
SUGGESTED BET: PAY ME INTEREST (10) to win
