Punter's Guide to Thoroughbred Tracks
The Eagle Farm track remediation project continues to progress with the process to de-thatch the recently laid turf completed last week, providing an even and stable surface with a base height for the turf of a uniform 18mm.
Next week the turf will be aerated to encourage further root growth and top dressing will then be applied to further enhance the surface.
While the rain has been beneficial for the nourishment of the laid turf, it has resulted in the loss of five of the past eight working days.
Despite the weather, the custom-mixed profile sand for the remaining section of the track continues to arrive on site.
The profile sand will be applied to the remaining track and compacted. It will then undergo a rigorous testing regime to ensure compliance with the strict project specification before the laying of final section of turf commences.
