RACE ONE

A real eye-catcher at his first Redcliffe appearance in the Patrons Purse, ALBY TWO CHAINS (4) was beaten by a wide gate and forced to retreat. Searching for open space, his individual closing splits were sizzling when under 10m from MANILA PLAYBOY. A Melton winner two starts back, this looks within reach.

THE RACONTEUR (7) angled to the poles in the Patrons Purse and searching for inside runs was hitting the line in nice order when midfield. Claiming a qualifier two starts back when taking them all the way, he looks set for an economical trip and will be probing for openings to issue a challenge.

CAPTAIN NEMO (1) has been kept fresh since his last outing where he wilted to the rear of the pack after a torrid trip. Runner-up after sitting parked the start prior, the improved gate is a big help.

BOMBADIER JUJON (9) settled in the 1x1 trail last time out and making a late play was just 2m in arrears of the winner DELIGHTFUL DUDE. With even luck he can be joining in over the closing stages.

SELECTIONS: ALBY TWO CHAINS (4), THE RACONTEUR (7), CAPTAIN NEMO (1), BOMBADIER JUJON (9)
SUGGESTED BET: ALBY TWO CHAINS (4) to win

RACE TWO

Returning for another Winter campaign for Victorian trainer Matty Craven LAMANDIER (2) for his first Redcliffe outing fresh up from his last start when down the line behind SEBS CHOICE at Melton after sitting parked. With good speed off the arm, he can look to force the issue.

TEAGAN BANNER (8) tackled the 1780m standing start Showcase A Final last week. Making some good metres in the closing stages, he was just a head in arrears of the winner ARTFUL MIAD in fast time for the trip. A smart winner here two starts back, this is a step up in class, but he looks up to it.

CALA JANE (7) was beaten by the outside front lien gate last week at Albion Park when retreating to secure position and against the tempo made it too hard. With an economical trip, she will be probing.

THERESACHANCE (1) has been in good touch of late and has a wealth of experience on this deck. Runner-up to KASHED UP last time out, he has early speed and can step up to feature.

SELECTIONS: LAMANDIER (2), TEAGAN BANNER (8), CALA JANE (7), THERESACHANCE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: LAMANDIER (2) to win

RACE THREE

A top line up of mares for this contest where the draw looks right in the favour of THE HONEY QUEEN (2) to chase down her first Qld victory. Making an error that ended her chances at her first AP outing last start, she came North off the back of three slick Menangle victories and can atone.

JERADAS DELIGHT (6) is resuming from a spell after returning to Jack Butler stable following a NSW campaign that did not see success in three appearances. Wound up with some strong trials where she has been asked to work hard, she takes her first look at The Triangle. The gate is putrid.

BALLERINI (7) overcame gate 6 at the AP mile last start in a mare’s qualifier, proving too strong when pressing on with it and taking a strong 8m margin in a career PB. She will be searching for open road.

SPORTY DANCER (4) was crossed early before a retake move to dictate in mare’s Band 5 company last time out and from the front held the chasers with a 3m margin. From the tricky gate she can feature.

SELECTIONS: THE HONEY QUEEN (2), JERADAS DELIGHT (6), BALLERINI (7), SPORTY DANCER (4)
SUGGESTED BET: THE HONEY QUEEN (2) to win

RACE FOUR

Just a small field for the banished division of the Redcliffe Cup where ANOTHER STATEMENT (1) secures all the favours from the inside lane. Beaten by a wide gate and forced to retreat in the Patrons Purse, he made a mess of the start two runs back at the tapes but peeled off some electric closing panels chasing. With a better take off, he gets his chance.

ITS MR CLOONEY (5) took them all the way last start under mobile conditions when finding the front from gate 2 and running a career PB 52.3 mile. With previous winning experience from the tapes, the small field and a sound record on this track he can make a play.

KANENA PROVLIMA (4) was not the cleanest away here last start and finding the pegs was then able to chase hard to grab the bronze behind SEBS CHOICE when 5m in arrears. He can feature again.

SELECTIONS: ANOTHER STATEMENT (1), ITS MR CLOONEY (5), KANENA PROVLIMA (4)
SUGGESTED BET: ANOTHER STATEMENT (1) to win

RACE FIVE

With some big targets on her Qld Winter sojourn, AMORE VITA (1) could not have been anymore impressive with how she started it off in 3YO company last start. Retreating to the rear of the small field, she exploded clear to a 10m margin. That was off the back of a sharp Melton win and with the gate advantage, looks mighty hard to stop.

SOHO RHAPSODY (7) was sectionally strong behind the ‘boys’ three starts back, running some nice individual splits chasing home. Beaten a neck against the older mare’s two runs back when sitting parked, she can enjoy a cosy trip in behind the speed and be ready to issue some form of challenge.

COVER GIRL (8) settled in the pocket trail here last start and using the passing lane, could not wind up in time when finishing a head adrift of the winner. The gate does her no favours again and she will be trying to make a closing raid.

RACY ROXY (6) takes her first outing on the Redcliffe deck, coming into this contest off the back of successive Albion Park victories. Powering home from gate 12 over the 2138m to score last start, she can chime in off the horror gate.

SELECTIONS: AMORE VITA (1), SOHO RHAPSODY (7), COVER GIRL (8), RACY ROXY (6)
SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 1 / 7-8 / 4-6-7-8

RACE SIX

He made a huge statement in his heat victory but will need to be better again for this Final after TARDELLI (7) lands the only gate connections would have liked to avoid. Claiming a 35m margin in his heat when putting them away with a dominant victory, he will need to ease back and work around them, but with 6 wins in 7 starts, his class can get him home.

HOLD ONTO YA BLING (6) strikes the first blow by virtue of the barrier draw and can look to utilise the front line to his advantage. Pressing ahead from gate 6 in his heat when scoring a comfortable 10m winning margin, he can move one spot closer without the emergency and taking control will be throwing it down.

FOR REAL LIFE (9) started from the second lien in his heat when circling them early to sit parked and fighting hard for the silver behind HOLD ONTO YA BLING. The gate hurts but he can be chiming in.

ODINS BLACK CROWS (8) grabbed 2nd to TARDELLI in the heat but could have made the margin much smaller if finding space sooner than it arrived. A winner two starts back over the AP mile, with better luck and momentum, he is a podium player.

SELECTIONS: TARDELLI (7), HOLD ONTO YA BLING (6), FOR REAL LIFE (9), ODINS BLACK CROWS (8)
SUGGESTED BET: TARDELLI (7) to win

RACE EIGHT

Undefeated in two starts since arriving in Qld, both victories for MACH SHARD (13) have been from the tapes and off 20m handicaps. He maintains that same impost for this battle and had a reconnaissance mission in a trial on this deck. The start looks crowded and avoiding any trouble might be in the action sooner than his past two starts.

TURN IT UP (12) will rely on some favours in the run, but if he can manage to secure a cart into the contest, will be ready to unleash his power. Charging home to score from the 10m tape two runs back over the AP 2647m trip, his stand record is exemplary, and he will be challenging.

SEBS CHOICE (3) settled three back as the field was in single file in the early stages last start before moving to sit parked with a mile to travel. Throwing it down to L L COOL J at the 400m, he forged clear before holding on for the win. Taking benefit from the run, he can look for a repeat.

MAKE MINE MEMPHIS (2) attacked the line powerfully last start from deep in the pack behind JILLIBY KUNG FU which followed midfield returns in both standing start warm up events. Settling handy can see him feature.

SELECTIONS: MACH SHARD (13), TURN IT UP (12), SEBS CHOICE (3), MAKE MINE MEMPHIS (2)
SUGGESTED BET: MACH SHARD (13) to win

RACE NINE

CRUNCH TIME (5)
tackled the Patrons Purse last start and was keen in the pack and trying to launch wide was unable to get warmed up. 7m in arrears over the AP mile the start prior as DEUS EX took the win, he can look to power up in the early stages. His two wins at this trip are both class records on the track record register and he can look to dictate.

MY ULTIMATE STAR (2)
eased to find position last start and in a race where all the power was in the last 800m, he amazingly ran a his win last half sub 53 yet still finished last of the 8, albeit just 10m from the winner. Also, a two-time winner on this deck, he can issue a challenge.

RANGER BOMB (1) should enjoy the easy trip in behind the speed from this alley and be ready to make a closing play. Snagged back off the arm last time out, he was closing in nice order for the silver behind FEELINGFORARAINBOW for the silver.

SELECTIONS: CRUNCH TIME (5), MY ULTIMATE STAR (2), RANGER BOMB (1)
SUGGESTED BET: CRUNCH TIME (5) to win
