GENERAL
 
Race 1: PITCHERS HOSPITALITY SUPPLIES QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1000 metres
 
HOSTWIN TORONADO – Checked at the start when tightened for room between APPLE TART and THE KEWESS which shifted out. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and again had difficultly obtaining clear running near the 300m.
 
THE KEWESS – Raced greenly when under pressure in the home straight.
 
APPLE TART – Inconvenienced near the 400m and held up until the 300m.
 
CHURCHILL MISS – Raced greenly for a short distance passing the 700m and was inclined to hang out.
 
CLAIRVUE LADY – Over raced in the middle stages when being restrained to obtain cover.
 
Race 2: CREATIVE STONE Maiden Plate 1000 metres
 
BEAN DARE DUN DAT – Declared a late scratching at 8:45am on vets advised due to an elevated temperature. Trainer M Boland was notified the he will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance prior to the horse racing or trialing again and was also advised that the horse would not be permitted to start in any race for which it was accepted this weekend.
 
App K Cowan was delayed due to transport difficulties and was replaced by App S Tomlinson as the rider of CELEBRATING.
 
FORENSIC AUDITOR – Raced wide throughout.
 
MOZART'S RIVAL – Raced wide throughout
 
NORSE MYTHOLOGY – Slow to begin
 
ASBURY PARK – Began awkwardly. Rider R Stewart reported that the gelding was inclined to lay out throughout
 
GALAXY GEM – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
MY ODDETTE – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
ALL AQUIVER – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
PARIS LOVE – Raced greenly throughout.
 
CELEBRATING – Restrained from heels and lost ground approaching the 600m. Near the 500m again had to be restrained from heels.
 
QUEEN SAFARI – Slow to begin and lost ground. Raced greenly in the early stages and had to be steadied from heels near the 700m. Near the 400m had to be steadied to avoid heels.
 
Race 3: SUNCOAST CABS QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1200 metres
 
CRIMINAL DEFENCE – After passing the 600m shifted out in an attempt to improve and in doing so was awkwardly placed on heels until near the 500m. App A Thompson was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
 
STUMPED – Raced three wide without cover.
 
SHE'S AN EAGLE – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
 
UNLEISHA – Became awkward when racing in restricted room near the 900m to the inside of CRIMINAL DEFENCE and as a result had to be steadied.
 
KEEN AS A BEAN – Trainer D Hansen was fined $200 under LR67 for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time.
 
PHANTOM COURT – Steadied from heels over the concluding stages.
 
ATLANTIC ROYAL – Near the 1100m commenced to over race whilst being restrained. Raced three wide without cover throughout. Forced wider after passing 600m
 
ZOU ZOU KACANARKIS – Over raced whilst being restrained in the early stages. Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
Race 4: DIGITAL VISION DIRECT QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1200 metres
 
KEETA – Began awkwardly
 
BELTARIA – Held up round the home turn. Had to be steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of MICROWAVE JENNY which shifted out under pressure. A Allen, rider of MICROWAVE JENNY, was reprimanded under AR131(a) for allowing his mount to shift ground when insufficiently clear to do so.
 
GREEN GOLD – Raced three wide with cover.
 
DOOMANI – Slow to begin
 
MICROWAVE JENNY – Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
SIP IT SLOW – Over raced in the early stages whilst being restrained to obtain cover. Raced ungenerously throughout. Held up rounding the home turn. Trainer S Kendrick was advised that a warning will be placed on the filly’s racing manners. Trainer S Kendrick advised Stewards that in light of today’s performance he will give consideration to removing the blinkers for the filly’s next start.
 
MARTO – Improved onto the heels of NOKONDI and had to be steadied.
 
ZAYDE – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
NOKONDI – Over raced in the early stages. Near the 800m became awkward when gelding was inclined to lay out. Held up rounding the home turn. Shifted out near the 250m to avoid heels.
 
Race 5: H & H AIR CONDITIONING BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1400 metres
 
CAPE WICKHAM – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
INCHING CLOSER – Laid in home straight.
 
DAULAT TAI PANAZIZ – Bumped on jumping
 
MISS DYNAMIC – Began awkwardly and bumped with DAULAT TAI PANAZIZ
 
ADELASE – Over raced in the early stages
 
Race 6: HAMPERS TO GO Class 2 Plate 1000 metres

PLATINUM EUROS – Slow to begin. T Brooker was reprimanded under AR132(5) for excessive whip use in that she applied the whip on 15 occasions over the final 200m. Stewards questioned rider T Brooker in regards to the tactics adopted in the home straight from the 400m until the 200m. After taking evidence from T Brooker and trainer N McCall, the matter was adjourned to a time and date to be fixed.
 
HIGHLAND SON - Trainer S Kendrick was fined $200 under LR67 for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time.
 
HINANO – Weakened in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination of gelding did not identify any abnormal findings.
 
RAMBLIN' MAN – Leaving the 800m dipped and raced greenly for a short distance.
 
BOLD THALIA – Began awkwardly
 
ME AS I AM – Began slowly and over raced in the middle stages.
 
 
Race 7: TAB CREATE YOUR SPRING CALENDAR OF PLAY SUMMER PROVINCIAL SERIES - HEA 1200 metres

MY BELLY BUTTON – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
ATOUCHMORE – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Weakened from the 500m and was retired from the event. A post race veterinary examination of ATOUCHMORE identified the gelding to be lame off fore tendon. Trainer M Fry was notified that he will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance prior to the horse racing or trialing again.
 
COULDN'T REFUSE – Stewards inquired into the reasons for COULDN’T REFUSE clipping the heels of JETSKI and blundering badly after passing the 200m. After taking evidence from the riders involve it was established that COULDN’T REFUSE improved into restricted room between JETSKI and MY BELLY BUTTON, shortly afterwards JETSKI shifted in slightly and MY BELLY BUTTON shifted out slightly when taken out by RAPIDO GRIS, which shifted out. After viewing the patrol footage stewards were satisfied that both M McGillivray, the rider of RAPIDO GRIS, and J Orman, the rider of JETSKI, had both attempted to straighten their mounts when they had commenced to shift ground. Given the circumstances the stewards were not satisfied that any rider had ridden carelessly and took no further action.

Race 8: WIMMERS PREMIUM SOFT DRINKS Class 1 Handicap 1800 metres
 
 
WELL WELL WELL – Whilst weaking near 200m was steadied when placed in restricted room to the inside of CASH BUNDLE, which shifted in. A post race veterinary examination of the mare did not identify any abnormal findings. App A Patis, the rider of CASH BUNDLE, was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
 
 
FAST 'N' FORWARD – Caught wide in the early stages was allowed to stride forward to take a leading position leaving the 1400m
 
LIVE MUSIC – Began awkwardly
 
CASH BUNDLE – Slow to begin. Forced wider near the 1200m by STORM’S COMING which hung out at that point of the race. Raced  wide throughout.
 
STORM'S COMING – Slow to begin. Hung out near the 1200m and raced greenly for a short distance.
 
Race 9: BUTLER MCDERMOTT LAWYERS Maiden Plate 1300 metres
 
BAY NOT GREY – Raced three wide throughout.
 
KNUCKLEBOX – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Raced ungenerously throughout.
 
TIMOTHY – Bumped on jumping.
 
STRICTLY PHYSICAL – Raced three wide with out cover.
 
MISS DISS – Forced wider near the 700m and race wide from that point on wards.
 
Race 10: ACCESS INSULATION SUNSHINE COAST Maiden Plate 1300 metres
 
ADVERTISING – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Over raced in the early stages. Steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of THINK I’M A LADY leaving the 600m.
 
MAGNATE – Held up rounding the home turn and into the early part of the home straight.
 
RED RIVER LAD – Began awkwardly
 
BRAZEN BRECCIA – Trainer D Vandyke advised a change of tactics in that the gelding will be ridden further back that its previous starts. Settled forward and wide without cover. Rider R Maloney was questioned regarding the tactic adopted, he stated that after beginning well he believed he would have had to significantly steady the horse in order to settle further back in the field. He added that the horse laid out from the 800m and was disappointing in the run to the line. A post race veterinary examination of gelding did not identify any abnormal findings.
 
EULEILAH – Raced wide throughout. Forced wider at the 800m.
 
STARBEATS – Raced wide throughout. Over raced approaching the 800m and shifted out and raced wide for the remainder. Near the 450m had to be steadied from the heels of RED RIVER LAD which shifted out to obtain clear running. B Pengelly, rider of RED RIVER LAD, was reprimanded under AR131(a) for shifting out when insufficiently clear. Short distance later was again steadied from the heels of ADVERTISING which shifted out when insufficiently clear. J Adams, rider of ADVERTISING, was reprimanded under AR131(a) for shifting out when insufficiently clear.
 
THINK I'M A LADY – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
