GENERAL
 
As N. Tomizawa was unable to attend the meeting due to injury, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Race 1: BLACK ISUZU UTE BENCHMARK 60 H’CAP – 1110M
 
BELLA OCCHI – After rearing and slipping over during the preliminary the mare underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.
 
COCO MONSIEUR – Held up leaving the 100m. When questioned by Stewards regarding the seemingly disappointing performance, jockey E. Ljung advised that the gelding began well and travelled comfortably throughout, however when placed under pressure in the home straight it proved disappointing. Stewards noted the explanation. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no significant findings.
 
DOMINANT WITNESS – Hung out from the 500m until the early stages of the home straight.
 
ROYAL WARFARE – Reared in the barriers prior to the start being effected.
 
NOOR DROPPER – Steadied whilst racing in restricted room over the concluding stages.
 
CAPITAL CITY – Raced in restricted room for a short distance shortly after the start.
 
WEARETENFORTYEIGHT – Bumped at the start. Raced in restricted room for a short distance shortly after the start. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
DANCING ON PARADE – After being late to arrive on course due to transport difficulties, the gelding underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Began awkwardly and bumped WEARETENFORTYEIGHT.
 
Race 2: TRACKSPARES BENCHMARK 70 H’CAP – 1210M
 
GENERAL COS – Slow to begin.
 
CRAB BOY – Held up approaching the home turn.
 
SHADYVALE STAR – A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no significant findings.
 
BEAU ISA – Shifted out to secure clear running leaving the 550m and, as a result, clipped heels and knuckled.
 
PIERIDAE – Stewards permitted Apprentice S. Tomlinson to ride the mare claiming only 2.5kg of his 3kg allowance. Stewards accepted Apprentice Tomlinson’s explanation in relation to this matter. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
TURBO TEDDY – Raced 3 wide throughout. Commenced to lay in passing the 500m.
 
Race 3: JOHNSTON’S LIVESTOCK TRANSPORT BENCHMARK 58 H’CAP – 2020M
 
THE IRONS – After being caught wide, Apprentice S. Tomlinson permitted his mount to stride forward to obtain a position outside the leader near the 1400m.
 
TISANI GREY – Bumped at the start.
 
DELANEY’S DESIRE – Got its head in the air whilst being eased near the 800m. Momentarily held up rounding the home turn.
 
SHE SALUTES – Began awkwardly and bumped TISANI GREY.
 
BROOKAJOE – A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which tailed off, revealed it to be significantly lame in the near fore leg. Trainer W. King was advised that the gelding will require a veterinary clearance prior to resuming racing.
 
ALFIE JUNIOR – Steadied when placed in restricted room near the 500m.
 
Race 4: JRS MANUFACTURING CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1300M
 
SIMPLY SPLASHING – Steadied from the heels of PAT’S GIRL (Beau Appo) which shifted in when not completely clear near the 900m. Jockey Beau Appo was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances in the future. Shifted out abruptly to obtain clear running near the 300m.
 
IL RICCIO – Steadied from heels near the 1200m.
 
SIR BAM – Eased from the heels of ROMAKASH (App. A. Thompson) which shifted in when not completely clear near the 1200m. Apprentice Thompson was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances in the future. Steadied from the heels of SIMPLY SPLASHING (App. N. Keal) which shifted out abruptly near the 300m. Apprentice N. Keal was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances in the future.
 
BEACH DRUM – Steadied from heels near the 500m.
 
WESTBROOK WARRIOR – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 5: HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAREE MAIDEN PLATE – 1050M
 
HARRY’S ME BOY – Bumped on jumping away. Bumped by BOOMTOWN BABE which shifted out of its own accord shortly after the start.
 
HARPAH’S JOY – Shifted out abruptly near the 300m, and was then taken wider on the track by another runner near the 200m.
 
PUMP ACTION – Bumped on jumping away.
 
DJEBEL READY – Momentarily eased from heels near the 300m.
 
BOOMTOWN BABE – Stewards permitted the filly to race without earmuffs. Trainer B. Squair was reprimanded for failing to enact a gear change by the prescribed time. In determining penalty, Stewards took into consideration Mr. Squair’s prior good record in relation to this rule. Steadied from heels near the 700m.
 
Race 6: AUSTBROKERS MAIDEN H’CAP – 1640M
 
The declaration of correct weight was delayed to enable the Stewards to view the photo finish print for 2nd. After viewing the print, they were satisfied with the Judge’s semaphored numbers.
 
MAADAAK – Slow to begin.
 
HALF MOON BLUE – Raced in restricted room near the 900m.
 
MISS FRASER – Raced in restricted room near the 900m. Momentarily tightened for room near the 700m by HALF MOON BLUE (R. Goltz) which was taken in by ELITE LABEL (App. A. Spinks). Apprentice Spinks was reprimanded as a result of this incident.
 
OUTBACK CHAMP – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
ELITE LABEL – Raced 3 wide throughout.
 
Race 7: OAKEY BEARS NO. 1 TYRERIGHT QTIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1640M
 
CHIEF COMMAND – Inconvenienced and had to be steadied leaving the 300m.
 
FOLLY OVER – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
NOBLE ARTIST – Overraced in the early and middle stages, and then raced wide until the 900m where it settled outside the leader.
 
SLAVE – Declared a late scratching at 6.00pm due to transport difficulties.
 
BEANS ‘N’ RICE – Raced in restricted room and had to be eased shortly after the start. Raced wide from the 900m. Apprentice S. Tomlinson accidentally dropped his offside rein leaving the 300m and, as a result, shifted out abruptly and inconvenienced CHIEF COMMAND.
 
BROOKER AVENUE – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
