RACE 1: CLASS 4 H'CAP – 800m
KING’S CAPER slowly away.
BUCKLERS HARD drifted in over the concluding stages hampering DOGON which was losing ground.
Trainer Bill Trimble requested a breastplate for EBONY CRYSTAL after weighing out. Oliver Galea was permitted to add a breast plate to that horse. This took his weight beyond the permissible allowance. O Galea was advised that his overweight record and the number of outstanding fines would lead to his being stood down if further overweight offences are committed.

RING FOR CINDY was slowly away.
RACE 3: MAIDEN H'CAP – 1200m
CORE OF MY HEART slowly away.

A protest was lodged by Wayne Orbell, the rider of 4th placegetter ENTITLEMENT, against STALWART HERITAGE, ridden by John Kehoe, being declared 3rd, alleging interference on the home turn and again close to the line. It was established that ENTITLEMENT had been slightly inconvenienced when a general movement outwards on the turn by horses on his inside had caused him to contact STALWART HERITAGE. There was insufficient evidence of interference close to the line to sustain the objection. The protest was dismissed and placings stood.
ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
The President of the club was requested to relocate the stewards tower at the finish to a position further forward of that point in order to give stewards a better head on view in the straight.
