RACE 1: ROCKTRANS MAIDEN PLATE 1200M.


At the request of connections Jockey D Crossland (TEXAS HEDGE) was permitted to ride 1kg overweight as no other rider was available.

CAPE KINJITE jumped in as SIR RASH jumped out and shifted out abruptly hampering SNAPPY CAT which lost ground.

VILLAGE SQUARE was slow away

SIR RASH had to be steadied when CAPE KINJITE rolled in, whilst over-racing and going forward had to be eased of the heels of TEXAS HEDGE near the 1100m. All riders advised to exercise more care.

SNAPPY CAT shifted out under pressure in the straight.

.RACE 2: BEVCORP CLASS 4 HANDICAP - 1000M.

SWIFT AND SURE jumped out making contact with SAACHI which slipped behind and was slow away.

Both GRAINGER and PRICE CHALLANGER over-raced for a short distance with their head in the air near the 800m when STRICTLY STYLE reached the lead and steadied the pace.

SAACHI laid inwards under pressure in the straight.

RACE 3: THE HEADLY GROUP REEF ‘N’ RAINFOREST CLASS 2 HANDICAP – 1200M.

MIRACLE BAZ and GAYLORD were both withdrawn as no riders were available

On returning to scale it was found prior to the start jockey S Morris (STAR OF PEGASUS) struck the shed door injuring his right foot and was subsequently taken to hospital.

WHATSATWATONVILLE was slow away.

TAX BREAK jumped awkwardly and lost considerable ground. On returning scale Jockey K Brady requested his mount be declared a non- runner as he was not ready and had his nearside foot out of the iron. After questioning the starter K Moody he felt he had given K Brady ample time after being loaded last to be ready. Jockey K Brady was advised it was his responsibility to be ready and have his feet in the irons at all times. TAX BREAK was declared a runner. Trainer J Ryan was advised the same.

Approaching the 1000m App S Kaya (SIR ASHLEY) was advised to exercise more care when he permitted his mount to shift in whilst over-racing and moving forward onto the heels of FACE THE ACTION in doing so shifted in causing SIRCAY to be steadied and lose ground.

SIRCAY shifted out abruptly when held up for clearing running in the straight.

RACE 4: DAIRYFARMERS & ORCHY OPEN HANDICAP 1400M

Jockey M Dale replaced S Morris (DON’T WORRY) and was permitted ride 1kg overweight as no other rider was available.

Jockey D Crossland (EDGEWANA) was permitted to ride 1kg overweight as no other rider was available.

REGAL PUNCH was vetted prior to the race and declared fit to race.

DON’T WORRY was slow away

PARIS OPTION jumped in the air and lost ground.

App C McCallum (KANTAR) was reprimanded when he permitted his mount to shift out near the 1250m taken REGAL PUNCH (App S Kayak) across the heels of EDGEWANA (D Crossland) which had rolled inwards. Jockey D Crossland was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.

Stewards questioned Jockey I fry (PARIS OPTION) concerning his riding tactics through the race. Jockey fry stated he was instructed to lead and try to pinch a break during the middle stages of the race and try to hang on to the finish. After viewing the films Stewards noted Jockey Fry’s explanation.



RACE 5: TOLGA HTEL UP & COMING STAYERS CLASS 6 PLATE 1800M.

Rounding the home turn SLAVANGER shifted out forcing OCEAN CROSSING wider.
