Race 1: FIELDS & FRAZER PRODUCE MAIDEN PLATE - 1000m.
STRONG PO, which broke through the barriers twice prior to the start, was inspected by the clubs vet and passed fit to start.
SUMMER FLAME was slow to begin.
FAST ‘N’ FURIOUS jumped awkwardly at the start making contact with SNIP MCWHA and losing ground.
Shortly after the start MULGILDIE EXPRESS shifted out abruptly and attempted to buck. C Prow, the rider of MULGILDIE EXPRESS, fell in this incident. Connection of MULGILDIE EXPRESS were advised that a further barrier certificate would be required prior to next start.
Race 2: RAT RICHARDSON MEMORIAL QTIS CLASS 3 H’CAP - 1000m.
Connections of PINDAROS, which proved extremely difficult to load, were advised that a further barrier certificate would be required prior to next start.
KING CORONA, which sustained a laceration to the near fore leg whilst in the barrier stalls, was declared a late scratching at 2:17pm. Upon declaration of correct weight all moneys invested on KING CORONA were ordered to be refunded and deduction of 13c win and 12c place were ordered on the face value of all successful tickets.
HEADQUARTERS jumped in at the start taking PINDAROS in onto MAJOR MACLEOD, which was hampered and lost ground.
Leaving 700m, HEADQUARTERS hung out badly taking LEMON BAY wider on the track both horses lost ground in this incident.
Approaching the 600m, PLANETS shifted in resulting in GREY TURK being eased.
GREY TURK was slightly held up for clear running over the concluding stages.
SLASHED raced wide through out.
Race 3: TOWER HARDWARE CLASS 6 H’CAP - 1000m.
RUSSIAN GUN and REPRENDRE were both slow to begin.
RUSSIAN GUN and REPRENDRE both made the home turn wide.
Race 4: QRSE XXXX AUGATHELLA MEATANT CUP OPEN H’CAP - 1200m.
On a request from the rider CAREYES was inspected by the clubs vet prior to the start and was found to be sore in the off fore leg, as a result CAREYES was declared a late scratching at 3:42pm. Upon declaration of correct weight all moneys invested on CAREYES were ordered to be refunded and deductions of 15c win and 14c place were ordered on the face value of all successful tickets. Connections of CAREYES were advised that the horse would be required to undergo a vet inspection prior to next start.
GEBRSELASSIE was slow to begin.
Race 5: 4VL CLASS B H’CAP - 1200m.
Prior to correct weight G Bannister the rider of BEE BELLE, which was extremely slow to begin, expressed concern regarding the start. After taking evidence from both G Bannister and the Starter Mr D Clarke, it was established that BEE BELLE had its head turned sideways as the start was affected, despite this it is ruled that BEE BELLE was afforded a fair start in accordance with the rules and was declared a starter.
Leaving the 500m, A PAT FOR BOB shifted in hampering SPECIAL SABRE.
