As G Williams was indisposed rider replacements as per Stewards summary.
Race 1: Fields & Frazer Produce Maiden Plate - 1200m
1st – Parragundy 2nd – My Plans 3rd – Zedzed 4th – Influenza
The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow App C Dixen the rider of MARSCAYS EDITION which finished 5th to view the patrol film, with a view of lodging an objection against MY PLANS (C Rogers) being declared 2nd. After viewing the patrol film App C Dixen elected not to lodge a protest and correct weight was declared.
HAY BILLY (R Bellert) was slow into stride.
KAMIRI LASS (D Brown) and MIRABOO (C Baker) came together shortly after the start.
ZEDZED (C Schumacher) made the home turn wide.
Leaving the 20m MARSCAYS EDITION had to be steadied when MY PLANS shifted in marginally when placed under pressure.
Race 2: “Rat” Richardson Memorial Class 5 H'cap - 1000m
1st – Woodsy 2nd – Starman 3rd – Kalinga Blaze 4th – Petalan
KALINGA BLAZE(C Rogers) jumped in at the start.
PETALAN (C Dixen) was slow in to stride.
EL COBAR (D Mo) raced wide for the entire of the event.
Race 3: Queensland Country Racing Matilda Highway Class 3 H'cap - 1200m
1st – Cross The Floor 2nd – Sadliers Crossing 3rd – Labelled Urgent 4th – Legal River
CROSS THE FLOOR (R Cox) dipped at the start.
SADLIERS CROSSING (S Sweedman) jumped in at the start making contact with CROSS THE FLOOR.
Shortly after the start BARRICADES (C Schumacher) had to be steadied when SADLIERS CROSSING shifted out abruptly.
W Glass, the rider of GIANT’S CASTLE accidentally dropped his whip near the 150m.
Race 4: Bank Of Queensland “Meatant Cup” Open H'cap - 1000m
1st – Cafe Bar 2nd – She’s All Greek 3rd – Gallagher 4th – Midnight Silence
CAFE BAR (R Cox) jumped in at the start making contact with SHE’S ALL GREEK (C Rogers).
KING CORNA (C Baker) was slow in to stride.
Stewards opened an inquiry into the reason for D Brown (I’M A LEADER) and C Baker ( KING CORONA) being dislodged near the 600m. After taking evidence from all riders the inquiry was adjourned to a time and date to be fixed to allow D Brown and C Baker, who were transported to the Hospital to give evidence.
Race 5: Ellangowan Hotel Class B H'cap - 1000m
1st – Laura’s Spirit 2nd – Lord Sutch 3rd – Elimination 4th – Moxie Million
BEAUTIFUL KEA was a late scratching by order of the Stewards at 4.00pm due to no rider available. As betting had not commenced there were no deductions required.
R Cox was the replacement rider on ANISETTE as D Brown was injured in the fall in race 4.
ANISETTE (R Cox) reared as the barriers opened losing ground.
LAURA’S SPIRIT (P Carroll) made the home turn wide.
