Race 2 Class 6 Handicap - 1000 Metres - 6 Starters
JILLANITY (Charles Prow) dipped and lost ground as the gates opened. Approaching the 800m BELLE JUDY (P Thureson) rolled in momentarily contacting IT’S A HOOTER (O Galea) which was racing on terms causing Jockey O Galea’s right foot to strike the rail. A join in the rail was not securely fastened and opened causing the metal to remove the top of his boot and lacerate his toes. He was treated by the ambulance bearer and Dr Manning. An inspection of the rail found the break and it was repaired.
