BUNDABERG RACE CLUB STEWARDS REPORT 1st MAY 2010

STEWARDS: W R MOORE (B WENDT & P HONEYWIL Club)

TRACK: SAND

WEATHER: FINE

STARTER: Mr M BAILEY

General: Stewards together with Jockeys representatives spoke to the President of Bundaberg Race Club, Mr R Titterington regarding the race surface. Mr Titterington advised Stewards the Club allowed track work to be conducted on race morning. Stewards instructed Mr Titterington that this practice must cease due to the fact the time require to water and roll a sand surface to consolidate the surface. Mr Titterington was also instructed to have the depth of sand across the complete track surface equal to allow consistent racing surface for all runners. Stewards to advise The Chief Stewards of Queensland, Mr W Birch of their concern.

Race 1 BSP CATERING QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1090MTRS

(1) OWIE (2) ISABELLA’S IMPULSE (3) ROAD FROM HEAVEN (4) PHILMAROSS

The race was delayed when BERRIGAN (Jky C Kearney) reared over when attempting to load the gelding into the barriers. After completing a complete lap of the track BERRIGAN was declare a late scratching at 1-35PM. The Public were advised of the scratching via the public address system. Deduction of 21cents for a win and 17cents for a place was announced on correct weight with all monies invested on BERRIGAN to be refunded. Trainer Mr T Hess was instructed BERRIGAN must successfully pass two (2) Jump-Out before being allowed to start again. Jky C Kearney was check by the Ambulance Attendant and allowed to fulfil his engagements.

CRAIGLEA CUGAR (App A Smith) was tightened between PHILMAROSS (Jky D Gill) and HOPEFUL HORNET (Jky K Stone) both of which jumped awkwardly.

PHILMAROSS (JKy D Gill), ROAD TO HEVEN (Jky I Coombes) and HOPEFUL HORNET (Jky K Stone) race wide through out.

The winner OWIE was swabbed.

Race 2 ACTIVE SKIN BINS CLASS B HCP 1090MTRS

(1) THATSROUGH (2) SEA GOING (3) QUEEN OF THE STORM (4) FALPLAY

SEA GOING (Jky K Sawyers) was slowly away.

SEA GOING (Jky K Sawyers) and QUEEN OF THE STORM (App A Batho) raced wide through out.

THATS ROUGH (Jky D Gill) and FALPLAY (Jky C Kearney) shifted ground on the home turn and raced wide in the straight.

The winner THATS ROUGH was swabbed.

Race 3 BUNDERBERG COMMERCIAL CAR CENTRE CLASS 2 HCP 1600MTRS

(1) WILLIAMSTOWN (2) SUTTON PRINCE (3) TIC TOC TIGER (4) HOT FLUSHES

WILLIAMSTOWN (Jky L Appo) and GROOVER LANE (App A Smith) race wide through out.

HOT FLUSHES (Jky C Kearney) and TIC TOC TIGER (App K Cross) raced wide from the home turn.

The winner WILLIAMSTOWN was swabbed.

Race 4 BUNDY DIESEL SPECIALISTS OPEN HCP 1212MTRS

(1) MONTE PRIMO (2) RED ROLLER (3) FIRE HAZARD (4) TOP’S LAD

MONTE PRIMO (Jky C Kearney) was tightened between HIGH DEE (App A Batho) and TOP’S LAD (Jky I Coombes) on jumping away.

FIRE HAZARD (App A Smith) and RED ROLLER (App K Cross) raced wide through out.

MONTE PRIMO (Jky C Kearney) and TOP’S LAD (Jky I Coombes) shifted ground on the home turn and raced wide in the straight.

The winner MONTE PRIMO was swabbed.

Race 5 THAT HAIR SALON CLASS 4 HCP 1212MTRS

(1) FRENARDI (2) CHIEF CHERON (3) ARDMILAN (4) FIVEGRAND

FRENARDI (Jky I Coombes) and CHIEF CHERON (App A Batho) came together on jumping away.

FIVE GRAND (Jky L Appo) dipped on jumping away resulting in Jky Appo losing his O/S iron for some distance.

Passing the 850mtr mark App K Cross was dislodged from LUNCH IN THE SUN. Stewards opened an inquiry into this fall and it was adjourned to allow App Cross to be present as she was transported by Ambulance to Bundaberg Hospital for further check-up. LUNCH IN THE SUN was inspected by the Club Vet who advised Stewards at the time of inspection no abnormalities were detected.

All runners raced wide in the straight.

The winner FRENARDI was swabbed.
