Race 1: MAIDEN SET WEIGHTS - 1212m

HEY BOSS (C Kearney) was slow to begin and lost ground.

C. Eaton reported at scale that TIGER'S BOY had a tendency to hang in for the majority of the race. Trainer D. Jones indicated that he would add a tongue tie to the gear for the gelding's next start.

When questioned regarding the performance of HEY BOSS, C. Kearney reported that the gelding, which was having its first race start, raced very greenly and did not settle. A post-race veterinary examination of HEY BOSS revealed no abnormalities.

Race 2: BENCHMARK 65 HCAP – 1380m

MYBOYMAURIE (B Abbey), which competed at the Sunshine Coast on Friday 2/5/14, was examined by the veterinary surgeon prior to Race 2 and passed fit to start.

WILD MAX (App T Brooker) began awkwardly.

TIGERLICIOUS (C Kearney) raced wide throughout.

A post-race veterinary examination of SWEET LITTLE FILLY (C Eaton), which performed below market expectations, revealed the mare to have a minor laceration to the tongue.

B. Abbey reported that MYBOYMAURIE resented the sand kickback.

Race 3: BENCHMARK 55 HCAP – 1600m

LADY'S COMMAND (App T Brooker) and COMMANDER BOND (C Eaton) were slow to begin.

LEMAITRE (C Kearney) and CARROT (App A Van Der Sanden) raced wide throughout.

On returning to scale, Apprentice T. Brooker reported that LADY'S COMMAND was reluctant to improve in the early stages of the race, however ran on strongly from the 1000m and in her opinion finished off the race well.

When questioned regarding the performance of ONLINES, B. Abbey reported that after travelling well in the early and middle stages, the mare weakened from the 600m and failed to respond to his riding. A post-race veterinary examination of ONLINES revealed no significant abnormalities.

Race 4: CLASS ONE HCAP – 1090m

BE RADICAL was a late scratching at 11.18am as no rider was available.

Stewards questioned trainer T. Steindl after stewards identified swelling on the near-side neck of APACHE SOX, which was engaged in Race 4. After taking evidence from Mr Steindl and veterinary surgeon Dr K. Story, stewards could not be satisfied that APACHE SOX had been treated on race day and permitted the mare to start. Stewards advised trainer T. Steindl that the matter would be adjourned until after the results of swab samples taken from the mare are known.

Jockey J. Buckley, rider of GLENROCK MAX, was reprimanded for his late arrival on course.

CRAIGLEA EVITA (App A Van Der Sanden) was slow to begin.

WAY UP THERE (C Eaton) raced wide throughout. On returning to scale, C. Eaton reported that after hanging out rounding the home turn, WAY UP THERE was inclined to lay in in the home straight.

Race 5: OPEN HCAP - 1090m

CRAIGLEA BLONDIE (App A Van Der Sanden) was slow to begin.

On returning to scale, Apprentice T Brooker reported that GOLDEN CASH was inclined to hang out rounding the home turn.
