Stewards opened an inquiry into the running and handling of MILADY RAINE. Stewards were concerned with Jockey S Galvins’ apparent lack of vigour after the horse commenced to lose ground from the 1000m. Jockey Galvin stated that his horse had commenced to hang from that point, which had placed him at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event. After taking further evidence from stable representative J Dougall, stewards afforded Jockey Galvin the benefit of a grave doubt in that the mare was showing signs of hanging, rounding the home turn. Post race veterinary examination of MILADY RAINE failed to reveal any abnormalities and a swab sample was taken.

Rider K Treble sustained bruising to her left foot and ankle and will require a medical clearance prior to riding again.
