Race 1 Class 6 Handicap - 1400 Metres – 9 Starters
AMIRREB (W. Swanton) caught wide and forced to ease at the 800 metre turn when READY TO FIRE (P. Denton) rolled out.

Race 2 Class 4 Handicap - 1200 Metres - 7 Starters
DANAPAC (B. Cornell) raced awkwardly in the early stages. B Cornell reported that this occurred when the pace was slow.

Race 3 Open Handicap - 1000 Metres- 7 Starters
DANZALLEGRO (M. Schumacher) slow to begin. DANZALLEGRO (M. Schumacher) was forced to ease at the 700 metre mark when racing inside of NEVER PERFECT (B. Cornell), CELESTIAL THOUGHTS (R. McMaster) and TOBIDASE HIDEMARO (W. Swanton). At a subsequent inquiry it was established that general tightening occurred after leaving the 750 metre mark and DANZALLEGRO (M. Schumacher) commenced to race ungenerously and lost ground. Riders were instructed to exercise care and ensure there is sufficient racing room for other riders when racing in similar circumstances.

Race 4 Class 1 Handicap – 1000 Metres- 5 Starters
At 200 metre mark NARYILCO LAD shifted out around the heels of GREY HEIREA (D. Monaghan) Leaving the 200 metre mark HULA BAY (D. Yendall) shifted in under pressure.

Race 5 Maiden Handicap - 1000 Metres – 8 Starters
BLONDSAVAL (R. McMaster) dislodged rider R. McMaster on the way to the start and was withdrawn by order of the stewards. All bets on BLONDSAVAL were refunded and winning bets made prior to the withdrawal were subject to a deduction of 7 cents in the dollar for the win and 8 cents in the dollar for the place on the face value of the ticket.
CROMDALE (P.Denton) broke through the barriers prior to the start and was withdrawn by order of the stewards. All bets on CROMDALE were refunded and winning bets made prior to the withdrawal were subject to a deduction of 19 cents in the dollar for the win and 16 cents in the dollar for the place on the face value of the ticket.
The deductions were declared in accordance with the provisions of LR147 (5) and the Racing and Betting Act.
