SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:

Due to technical difficulties a number of late riders were unavoidable and are stated as per steward’s summary sheet.


Race 1: VEOLIA QTIS 3YO &UP MAIDEN H’CAP – 1000M
1st - GENTLE GOODNIGHT 2nd - BONNAY FLYER 3rd - SPITIT BEAT 4th - GRACE ACE

DOUBLE REJOICE (K. Ballard) began awkwardly.

When questioned into the barrier manners of GRACE ACE, apprentice R. Payne stated that after the mare was fractious in the barriers she was un-prepared when the start was effected and became unbalanced resulting in GRACE ACE losing considerable ground. Whilst stewards noted her explanation she was nonetheless advised to be more aware when once placed in the starters hands of a pending start.

M. McGillivray, rider of SPIRIT BEAT advised stewards that in his opinion the gelding was not comfortable racing anti clock wise and had a tendency to hang out, throughout the race.

TOP PAL (D. Rewald) raced wide for the majority of the race.

Race 2: COCA COLA CLASS B H’CAP – 1000M
1st - LAST PARDEE 2nd - NATURAL MIST 3rd - BOTH EARS 4th - FOUR JOY

KEEP YOUR HAT ON (R. Hancock), MAGIC DOLLAR (C. Kearney), SILENT KEEPER (T. O'Donnell) and LITTLE MISS VICKY (J. Geppert) were all slow to begin.

RATBAG (R. Faehr) began awkwardly.

TELL ME NO LIES (G. Geran) hung out near the 800m across the heels of RATBAG having to be steadied and lost ground.

ZAMBEZIE SUN (S. Egan) raced wide for the majority of the race.


Race 3: RFDS 'CELEBRATING 85 YEARS' CLASS 5 H’CAP – 1200M
1st - WHETSTONE 2nd - VOLUNTARY 3rd - POWER SOURCE 4th - GENERAL CALM

RODRIGEUS was declared a late scratching at 9.30am acting on veterinary advice.

Trainer J. Morris was fined the sum of $50.00 under AR.124 in that he failed to present WHETSONE to the parading enclosure by the required time.

STANLEY'S DEED (J Geppert) began awkwardly and lost ground.

POWER SOURCE (S. Egan) hung out leaving the 800m becoming awkward on the heels of GENERAL CALM and raced wide from that point onwards.


Race 4: BIRDSVILLE HOTEL CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1200M
1st - TOO MANY LIES 2nd - BUSH GEM 3rd - MRS ASIA 4th - WINDSPLITTER

HOUSE OF STYLE (J. Orman), TISPURA TONIGHT (G. Geran) and CRYSTAL MATES (D. Rewald) were slow to begin.

BRADBURY'S QUEST (K. Ballard) and CRYSTAL MATES raced wide for the majority of the race.

TOO MANY LIES (T. O'Donnell) laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.

R. Faehr, reported to stewards that in his opinion CICERAO MOUNTAIN, was not comfortable travelling anti clock wise and raced ungenerously in sections of the race.

Trainer W. Melvin, reported that HOUSE OF STYLE sustained deep lacerations to its near fore leg which required attention. Mr Melvin was advised that he must provide a veterinary clearance prior the gelding being permitted to race again.


Race 5: CARLTON MID CUP OPEN H’CAP – 1000M
1st - EMILA 2nd - JAM TIN 3rd - DIMI THE DANCER 4th - SPEEDING DRAGON

JAM TIN (G. Geran) was slow to begin.

DIMI MTHE DANCER (A. Pattillo) lay in under pressure over the concluding stages making contact with JAM TIN on number of occasions.

SPEEDING DRAGON (M. McGillivray) raced wide for the majority of the race.

When questioned into the performance of CRAIGLEA FIGHTER, rider D. Rewald stated that once he was unable to obtain lead the gelding did not race truly and then resented the kick back and as a result did not place the horse under pressure. Stewards noted his explanation however reminded D. Rewald that he is obliged to ride his mounts out to the finish of the race under the rules of racing.

Race 6: BIRDSVILLE FUEL SERVICES CLASS 3 PLATE – 1400M
1st - TUATARA 2nd - VEILED MORN 3rd - TELESIUS 4th - COME PREPARED

TELESIUS (A. Pattillo) and BOLD AUSIE (G. Geran) were slow to begin.

VEILED MORN (S. Egan) raced wide for the majority of the race.
