Race 1 Super QRIS Maiden Handicap - 1000 Metres – 13 Starters
JILLY BEANS (Ricky Barone) jumped inwards coming into contact with JILLY’S PICK (B Richardson) causing that horse to take fright and jump outwards leaving the course. JILLY’S PICK took no further part in the race. Trainer J Prow was advised that JILLY’S PICK would be required to pass at the barriers. REGAL JAZZ (T Richardson) lost ground from the 600m. When questioned T Richardson stated that the horse failed to handle the conditions and lost ground of its own accord. HURRY IN bled for the first time during the race and banned for a period of 3 months.
Race 2 Class 4 Handicap - 1000 Metres – 5 Starters
SWEETLIP (B Richardson) dipped at the start and lugged all the way. KENTUCKY FLAME (T Richardson) jumped outwards at the start. SNAADESIRE (R Hammond) lugged outwards on the home turn.
Race 3 Class 2 Handicap - 1200 Metres- 9 Starters
READY EDDIE (O Galea) raced awkwardly and shifted ground on the home turn firstly causing RUE BIJOU (R Barone) to be disappointed for a run and then bumping BOW BABE (B Richardson). Jockey O Galea warned to be more careful in future.
Race 4 Open Handicap – 1200 Metres- 10 Starters
T Richardson indisposed following his ride on KENTUCKY FLAME in race 2 was replaced by Carmel Baker on LEGAL SWITCH. VERNAZZA (J Walton) shifted ground when J Walton looked around from the 1000m to 800m. J Walton reprimanded for looking around.
Race 5 Class 6 Handicap – 1400 Metres- 6 Starters
CAPTAIN SMOOTH (Carmel Baker) difficult to load.
An enquiry into an incident in race 1 at Aramac 7/10/2000 was concluded with no action being taken.
