Race 1 Class 5 Handicap - 900 Metres – 4 Starters
PARADISIAC (T Brummell) jumped outwards colliding with BELLE JUDY (B Richardson) and then contacted I’M A TELESTO (R Bellert) which had also shifted outwards. PARADISIAC lost ground in the incident.
Race 2 Maiden Handicap - 1050 Metres - 9 Starters
SWAPPED (T Austin) was frctiuos in the barriers. KALLIMA ROSE (R Hammond) jumped outwards colliding with TIGER LASS (Shane Oates). Approaching the 800m mark LANNON (R Bellert) shifted in sharply causing T Brummell to take hold on REGAL JAZZ. R Bellert stated that he had sufficient room to move into the gap and the horse had reacted sharply. At no time was REGAL JAZZ interfered with as LANNON had got no closer than 2 horses to it. Apprentice T Brummell agreed that he may have overreacted when he saw LANNON move in sharply. No action was taken. KALLIMA ROSE shifted out slightly approaching the line and SWAPPED (T Austin) which was finishing quickly moved in slightly causing T Austin to have to check to avoid the heels of KALLIMA ROSE.
Race 3 Super QRIS Class 3 Handicap - 1050 Metres- 8 Starters
NEW YORK TIMES (5)(T Brummell) jumped inwards and DOGON (3)(R Bellert) jumped outwards inconveniencing STYLET (4)(R Barone).
Race 4 Class 2 Handicap – 1300 Metres- 6 Starters
MR. JERRY (R Hammond) threw its head in the air as the gates opened losing ground.
Race 5 Open Handicap – 1050 Metres- 5 Starters
CAPTAIN SMOOTH (C Baker) was hard to load and after being led into the barrier on a lead was fractious. In the confusion the lead was left on the horse and the field jumped with the lead still attached to CAPTAIN SMOOTH. Jockey C Baker was able to restrain the horse which took no part in the race. The starter (Paul Banks) was interviewed and the Clerk of the Course (J Baker) stated that he had led the horse in on a lead and when it commenced to play up he forgot about the lead. No action was taken and the club agreed to refund the starting costs for the horse.
