Making the home turn, GOLDWOOD was hampered and taken wider on the track when the rider of CAFU shifted out to obtain clear running. C Thomson the rider of CAFU was advised to exercise more care.

Both rider S Galvin and trainer M Hicks were questioned regarding the tactics adopted during the early and middle stages on MEGANISSI. Both parties advised that the pattern of the racing for the horse was to race back in the field and run on, as the horse had done today. Rider S Galvin further stated that the horse had not handled the sand being thrown back from the other runners. Mr Hicks stated that he was not unhappy with the way in which the horse had been handled today, as it was very similar to the pattern when the horse won last start. Stewards advised Apprentice Galvin that whilst the explanation was accepted they would expect more effort to be shown during the early stages to have the horse closer to the field in future.
