MILLS AND BOOM was declared a late scratching at 1pm by order of the stewards as no rider was available. As betting had not commenced no deductions were to apply.

Apprentice R Cox the rider of SOLDIER GIRL was fined $100 for failing to claim his full allowance.

Jockey C Bryen the rider of RUN RIVA was fined $100 for accepting a ride when 1/2kg overweight

FORBIDDEN FOREST (D Monaghan) blundered on jumping away.

SOLDIER GIRL (R Cox) which was slow to begin, shifted out abruptly shortly after the start taking NO MORE DIAMONDS (R Kirwin) and MAHAYANA (C Schumacher) wider on the track.

A post race veterinary examination of OMBRA MAID SERA (D Brown) failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Stewards questioned S Sweedman in relation to the improved performance of MISS VENOMOUS. Jockey Sweedman stated that mare had been operated on following its last start to remove bones chips in its knees. App. Sweedman further advised that the stable always had a good opinion in the mare and as such a forward showing was not unexpected. Stewards noted App. Sweedman’s explanation.

AMAROCCO SPECIAL (R Kirwin) was slow to begin.

Apprentice S Sweedman was questioned in relation to the performance of GREY SKYE which performed below market expectations. App Sweedman stated that he was confident of a forward showing from gelding today based on its work during the lead up to the race. App Sweedman further stated that he felt the racing pattern of GREY SKYE whereby it is able to race in a forward position would also suit today however at no stage did the gelding give him the impression that it was going to figure in the finish. Stewards advised trainer P Webster, through his stable representative, to advise Stewards in the coming days if anything comes to light which may have contributed to the poor showing of GREY SKYE today.

A post race veterinary examination of AMELIAS PICK failed to reveal any abnormalities.
