SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS

As jockey’s C Kearney (injury) and K Gates (transportation difficulties) were not riding at the meeting, rider replacements were made as per the Stewards Summary.

GILDA F CLARKE SOLICITOR/FLINDERS GROUP CLASS B H’CAP 1030M-
1st-All Claudia 2nd-Sky Lucy 3rd-The Regal One 4th-Go Dan Go

The start of this race was delayed by approximately 10mins as the ambulance was late arriving on course.

WARRIOR DELLA SERA (G Geran) began awkwardly.

DESERT LAIR (R Kerwin) was slow to begin.

SKY LUCY (J McKinnon) and NED’S OUTLAW (M O’Brien) made heavy contact on jumping away.

GO DAN GO (R Jamieson) and CAPTAIN NAT (M Dorrington) were both tightened for room at the start between COMMANDING LASS (B Abbey) and MI KERIDA (R Faehr) both of which shifted ground.

NED’S OUTLAW shifted in under pressure during the early stages of the home straight.

R Kerwin the rider of DESERT LAIR dropped her whip at approximately the 100m.

Jockey B Abbey reported to Stewards that in his opinion COMMANDING LASS failed to run on as he expected in the home straight as a result of racing wide for the majority of the event and the fact that the mare was first up today after a 3 month spell.

Jockey R Faehr was fined $100 for striking his mount MI KERIDA with the whip in a forehand manner on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m.

RACE 2- NPC CONTRACTING MAIDEN PLATE 1030M-
1ST-Edgeroi Dixie 2nd-Dame Judi 3rd-Sweet Sweet Love 4th-Mini Style

FOOTROT FLATS (S Apthorpe) began very awkwardly.

JUST JUNABEE (J Warrington) was slow to begin.

SEA BANDETTE (R Faehr) began awkwardly.

SWEET SWEET LOVE (N Yamada) hung in during the early stages of the event.

DR ACULA (J McKinnon) was held up from the 150m until the completion of the event.

Near the 100m FLASH APACHE (M O’Brien) was tightened for room and forced to ease when racing between EDGEROI DIXIE (L McCoy) and DAME JUDI (R Ride) which shifted under hard riding. From this point on FLASH APACHE was held up for the remainder of the event.
App. R Ride was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

RACE 3: TYREPOWER CHINCHILLA OPEN H’CAP 1030M-
1ST-Frisco Lights 2nd-Zassi 3rd-i’ll Rule 4th-Cattleman

DR BARNARD (S Egan) was slow to begin.

Stewards questioned Trainer T Dougall in relation to the seemingly disappointing performance of DR Barnard. Mr Dougall stated that he was not entirely disappointed with the performance given the fact that after being slow to begin the gelding was forced to improve into the race on the fence which in Mr Dougall’s opinion was vastly inferior ground on the Heavy track today. Stewards noted the explanation.

RACE 4- CHINCHILLA CASKET & NEWS CLASS 3 PLATE 1200M-
1st-Joe Blow 2nd-Forward Miss 3rd-First Option 4th-One Sweet Day

This race was delayed by 20mins as the ambulance officers were required to attend to a member of the public.

JACK’N”ME (M Dorrington) was slow to begin.

Near the 150m, SINGLE ENTRY was accidently struck on the head on 1 occasion with the whip of App. R Ride (ONE SWEET DAY).

Following the event ONE SWEET DAY was found to have bled from both nostrils. As this was the first occasion that ONE SWEET DAY had bled, trainer P Sexton was advised that the mare would be barred from racing for a period of 3 months and would be required to gallop 1000m in the presence of a Steward prior to next being permitted to race.

Stewards questioned trainer N Owen in relation to the disappointing performance of SINGLE ENTRY which performed below expectations. Mr Owen advised that in his opinion SINGLE entry raced a little flat as a result of being 2nd up today after a 12 month spell. Mr Owen further added that he would now look to restrict SINGLE ENTRY’S races to distances less then 1200m. Stewards noted the explanation.

RACE 5: BLACK TOYOTA CHINCHILLA CUP OPEN H’CAP 1400M-
1st-Saint Romain 2nd-Gesink 3rd-Ken and Kim 4th-Kalman

As there was no other suitable apprentice available Stewards permitted L McCoy to replace K Gates as the rider of MOUNT VERNON

HOOTILLA (J Warrington) was slow to begin.

UNCLE JAN (W Glass) was slow into stride.

KNEEL AND RAISE (S Egan) and KEN AND KIM (A Smith) both began awkwardly.

Near the 100m. KNEEL AND RAISE was forced to ease when SAINT ROMAIN (R Ride) shifted in under hard riding. App. Ride was reprimanded and advised to exercise greater care when placing her mounts under hard riding with the whip.

Jockey R Faehr was fined $100 for striking his mount KALMAN with the whip in a forehand manner on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m.

Stewards questioned trainer R Cole in relation to the improved performance of SAINT ROMAIN. Mr Cole advised that during this preparation it has been his endeavour to train the gelding to race over staying distances however its recent poor form indicated to him that it was not suited racing over these distances. Mr Cole therefore advised that he freshened SAINT ROMAIN up over the past week in preparation for today’s event. He added that based on what limited trackwork the gelding undertook in the lead up to today’s event, that he had expected a forward showing today. Stewards noted the explanation.

RACE 6: GILDA F CLARKE SOLICITOR/FLINDERS GROUP CLASS B H’CAP 1030M-
1ST –Tanzina 2ND-Cobalt Blue 3RD-Major Ascot 4TH-Robdon Ramble

As W Glass was ill and unable to fulfil his engagement in this race he was replaced as the rider of PAMAZA by L McCoy. Jockey Glass was advised that he will be required to obtain a medicial certificate prior to next riding.

Both MY LIONESS (J King) and PARIZSKA (S Apthorpe) stood flat footed at the start and lost considerable ground. Trainer’s B Robinson (PARIZSKA) and N King (MY LIONESS) were advised that they would be required to obtain a barrier certificate for their respective runners prior to them next racing.

Trainer N Owen reported to Stewards that PAMAZA, which raced greenly and tailed off during the event, would be sent for an immediate spell.
