CLERMONT RACE CLUB STEWARDS REPORT 17/5/2003

STEWARDS PANEL: P Bird (Chairman), M Bird (Asst), D Henderson (Club)

WEATHER – Fine TRACK – Inconsistent, Heavy inside, Fast outside, very dusty, poorly prepared.

RACE 1: QTIS CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1000m
STAR ANCHOR unruly in the mounting yard and during the preliminary.

RACE 2: CLASS 6 H'CAP – 1000m
ODDS ON jumped awkwardly losing ground.

RACE 3: MAIDEN H'CAP – 1200m
MIGHTY KNIGHT unruly in the barriers and hung out in the straight.
INSTANT KARMA showed signs of soreness in the off hind when returning to scale.

RACE 4: CLASS 3 H’cap - 1200m
LADY IMOLA (NZ) unruly in the mounting yard.

RACE 5: CLERMONT CUP H'CAP – 1400m
PARTNER REQUIRED unruly in the barriers. PARIS PEARL returned to scale having been galloped on the near hind. Due to the dusty conditions it could not be ascertained where the incident occurred.

Following a complaint from Bookmakers Clerk Paul Turner stewards enquired into alleged incidents prior to and after the start of Race 4 where licenced persons D Jamieson and L Jamieson were accused on offensive behaviour towards Bookmaker J Turner. After hearing evidence from all parties both D Jamieson and L Jamieson were cautioned for what could be considered improper conduct at a race meeting.

WINNERS OF ALL RACES WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
