Race 1: QUAMBY ALLSPORTS ASSOCIATION CLASS 1 HANDICAP. 1000 Metres. ( 4 Starters).

1st – Desert Sweep 2nd – Wayne 3rd - Hunga 4th – My Boy Georgie

Mr. K. Ballard was a late riding engagement for Hunga. Trainer Mr. R. Krogh’s explanation was excepted by stewards for the late riding engagement.

No racing incidents to be reported.


Race 2: ERNEST HENRY MINING CLASS 6 PLATE. 1000 Metres.
( 6 Starters).
1st – Marina Sands 2nd - Steinberg 3rd – Outback Elsa 4th – Exceed All Limits

Station Master raced wide on the home turn.


Race 3: CLONCURRY MUSTERING MAIDEN PLATE. 1200 Metres.
( 4 Starters).
1st – Bump In The Night 2nd - Petroni 3rd - Kissengarni 4th – Red Planet

At about the 1100m, RED PLANET (Ms. T. Chambers) shifted out slightly having to ease off the heels of KISSENGARNI (Mr. T. Hill) which shifted in marginally.

Race 4: ERNEST HENRY MINING BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP. 1200 Metres. ( 8 Starters).
1st – Simple Task 2nd – Month Of Sundays 3rd - Tallica 4th – Access Code

NO IDENTITY (Mr. K Ballard), ACCESS CODE (Mr. A. Spradau) and ITS JUST LAGO (Ms. T. Chambers) all raced wide at the 900m turn.

NO IDENTITY (Mr. K. Ballard), ITS JUST LAGO (Ms. T. Chambers), GOLDEN PAPILLON (Mr. J. Kropp) raced wide on the home turn.

Jockey Mr. A. Spradau was questioned regarding the improved performance of ACCESS CODE. Jockey Spradau stated that class of horses in today’s field was not as strong as his last start. He added that as this was the horse’s second start in the area, the gelding had gained natural improvement from its last start which was the geldings first run on a dirt track. Jockey Spraudau’s explanation was noted by stewards.

Race 5: CLONCURRY & DISTRICT RACE CLUB CLASS B HANDICAP. 1400 Metres. ( 7 Starters).
1st – Gold Vision 2nd - Stiltskin 3rd – Bruce In The Suit 4th – Classic Cadillac

UNREAL (Ms. T. Chambers) and CARDIFF ARMS (Mr. A. Spradau) were slow to begin and raced wide in the early stages of the race.

GOLDEN VISION (Mr. K. Ballard), CLASSIC CADILLAC (Mr. T. Brummell), JOLOKIA (Mr. J. Kropp) all raced wide on the home turn.

CARDIFF ARMS who finished a disappointing 6th as odds on favourite was inspected by the Veterinarian Surgeon at the request of the Stewards post race. The Veterinarian advised the gelding seemed quite dehydrated and was making a noise in the laryngeal region, but was not distressed. Stewards will contact Trainer J Morris in the days subsequent to the race meeting for a follow up report on the geldings condition.
