RACE ONE Class 5 Handicap 1000 Metres 4 Starters
SIGN WRITER (M.Gray) slipped as the gates opened and jumped away awkwardly.

RACE TWO Class 1 Handicap 1400 Metres 7 Starters
MACEDON AFFAIRS (I.Toward) was slow to leave the starting stalls. SING MY PRAISES (P.Crich) jumped outwards when the gates opened. JILLIBY HILL (K.Brady) slipped at the 900mtr position. TOP MOVE (App N.Homann) raced ungenerously in the middle stages of the race and moved in under pressure at the 150mtr position.

RACE THREE Class 4 Handicap 1300 Metres 8 Starters
A protest was lodged by Jockey M.Deguara rider of NEXT IN LINE against CLANDENT (App T.Ono) being declared the winner of the race alleging interference from the 200mtr mark. After taking evidence from both parties, viewing the patrol films and on their own observations, The Stewards dismissed the protest. CLANDENT (App T.Ono) was slow to leave the starting stalls. VINTAGE PRIDE (M.Gray) hung out at the 150mtr mark. After negotiating the home turn NEXT IN LINE (M.Deguara) drifted out to race mid field. At the 150mtr mark CLANDENT shifted in onto NEXT IN LINE. App T.Ono stopped applying pressure to his mount momentarily but CLANDENT continued to move inwards, restricting the whip action of the rider of NEXT IN LINE.

RACE FOUR Class 3 Handicap 1000 Metres 9 Starters
KAMERUKA was scratched at 12.25 by order of the Stewards when they were unable to verify the bona fides of the gelding. HOTTENTOT (E.Kowald) was fractious in the starting stalls and jumped in the air when the gates opened. BIJOU DE MER (App C.Lee) reared when the gates opened. DARK CRUSADER (K.Brady) slipped when leaving the starting stalls.

RACE FIVE Open Handicap 1000 Metres 8 Starters
AUSSIE PROSPECTOR (I.Toward) jumped inwards when the gates opened making contact with ICON PRINCE (D.Philpot). BRILLIANT SPY (M.Gray) was slow into galloping action. CINNAMON COVE (App T.Ono) shifted in under pressure in the straight.

RACE SIX Open Handicap 1400 Metres 11 Starters
M.Seagren was unable to make the required weight on MI MODEST and was replaced as the rider of the gelding by Jockey E.Kowald. M.Seagren was found guilty of a charge under the terms of Ar120(b) in that having accepted the ride on MI MODEST was found to be overweight and was fined $50. PROUD HARVEST (T.Walsh) jumped in the air when the gates opened and ran wide negotiating the home turn. HAKIM (K.Rockett) jumped out when the gates opened and made contact with MI MODEST (E.Kowald). SEA ROYAL (App T.Maeda) jumped in the air leaving the stalls. The club’s veterinary surgeon reported that appearance of blood in the off side nostril of SEA ROYAL whilst the gelding was in the swabbing stall. SEA ROYAL was held for further observation but the near side nostril remained clear.

RACE SEVEN Class 2 Handicap 1250 Metres 12 Starters
HONEY TIME (App T.Ono) jumped outwards when the gates opened making contact with RAFFO RULES forcing that horse on to MY DESIGN (App G.Porter) which lost ground. The situation was aggravated by MY DESIGN which jumped inwards. At the 550mtr mark RAFFO RULES which was racing fiercely eased off the heels of PRICELESS DANCER. KINGS WAGER (M.Seagren) was held up for a clear run in the straight.

GENERAL REPORT:
At the conclusion of racing Apprentice T.Ono attended the Stewards room with his master Mr J.Caught and was re-shown the video films of the incidents in races 3 & 5. Apprentice Ono was instructed to pay more attention to keeping his mounts straight at all times particularly when applying pressure.
