RACE ONE Maiden Handicap 1250 Metres 12 Starters
As the barriers opened, GANGELIES (M. McDuff) was slow into galloping action, while STORMS (J. Grisedale) and RELOCATION (F. Edwards) momentarily came together. Soon after the start SPECIAL FORCES (K. Rockett) moved in tightening the running of RHOMBUS (M. Johnston), OSCA ERIC (G. Kliese), RELOCATION (F. Edwards) and STORMS (M. McDuff). Stewards issued a reprimand under the terms of AR 137(a) against Jockey K. Rockett, for allowing his mount to move inwards and tighten the inside runners which resulted in OSCA ERIC and RELOCATION losing their positions in the field. At approximately the 450m mark, UNOZOFF (B. Kenning) was hanging outwards and shifted in when corrected by its rider, forcing RANNER WAY (App. Hammersley) to be eased. At approximately the 600m mark, RELOCATION had to be steadied off the heals of QUALITY SUCCESS (J. Stopps).
RACE TWO Class 2 Handicap 1000 Metres 12 Starters
At the start CREDIT LIMIT (G. Kliese) knuckled over out of the barriers. Rounding the home turn at the 450m mark, SPARKY (M. McDuff) raced excessively wide. Stewards placed a bar on the horse from running in races until trialed successfully before them. Trailer P. Reeves was advised accordingly.
RACE THREE Class 3 Handicap 1250 Metres 12 Starters
As the barriers opened DE CHEVAUX (S. Watkin) jumped out awkwardly. At approximately the 900m mark, POLAR SNIP (M. Gray) shifted inwards onto ST.CAIRNS (F. Edwards), causing ST.CAIRNS to move in on HALOVAIN (A. Cowie). Jockey M. Gray was issued with a reprimand for allowing his mount POLAR SNIP to move inwards onto ST.CAIRNS and HALOVAIN at approximately the 900mtr mark of the event, resulting in POLAR SNIP having to be eased.
RACE FOUR Class 4 Handicap 1400 Metres 14 Starters
At the 900m mark, CARSON (App. Hammersley) shifted inwards resulting in KENFLOW (M.McDuff) being taken inwards onto MY BILBOA (D. Bradbury) and having to be eased.
RACE FIVE Class 5 Handicap 900 Metres 12 Starters
Stewards opened an inquiry into an incident which occurred soon after the start of this event involving ROCKFORD (T. Walsh), WHIZZER (K. Brady), RESIST (App D Crossland), SETO GAMUSHARA (M. McDuff) and ROAD DANCER (P. Crich). After taking statements from the riders involved, the inquiry was adjourned due to Jockey T. Walsh being unable to attend. Jockey T.Walsh was dislodged from his mount ROCKFORD at the 450m home turn. After receiving initial treatment on course, he was then transported to hospital for further medical treatment. When Jockey Walsh is able to give evidence, the Stewards intend hold an inquiry into the reason for Jockey T.Walsh being dislodged from his mount. Under the terms of Ar137A(2a) the Stewards issued a charge against Jockey D.Bradbury for improper use of his whip by striking his mount JEDI KNIGHT in the vicinity of the neck. Jockey Bradbury was found guilty and subsequently fined $50.
RACE SIX Open Handicap 1250 Metres 12 Starters
At the 900m mark PRINCE JACOB (App. T Maeda) shifted inwards onto CINNAMON COVE (App T Ono) which forced that horse inwards onto HE’S UNFORGETABLE (M.
