GENERAL

Race1 BRISBANE BLOODSTOCK BONUS 2YO HANDICAP 960M
1st – GENERAL WEILAND 2nd – HUSK’N’HEARTBREAK 3rd – COCOA CONATUS 4th – SEEOHTOO

GENERAL WIELAND (S. Kaya) began awkwardly shifted out and bumped HUSK’N’HEARTBREAK (D. Crossland).

PUDZINOWSKI (K. Rockett) began awkwardly and shifted out hampering COCOA CONATUS (S. Morris). In this incident COCOA CONATUS lost considerable ground.

Leaving the 700m, SEEOHTOO (I. Toward) and PUDZINOWSKI (K. Rockett) brushed.

QUICK EMBRACE (G. Kliese) raced wide throughout the event.

GENERAL WIELAND (S. Kaya) hung out rounding the home turn.


Race2 : CARLTON DRAUGHT MAIDEN PLATE 960M
1st – RASHEN ROULETTE 2nd – DREAM SCENE 3rd - ALITTLEBITOFBUBBLY 4th – MISS DIZZEE IGEE

TRIBAL HORSE was declared a late withdrawal at 9.15am, trainer J. Robbins will be interviewed regarding this matter at a time and date to be fixed.

PRIVATE JAMES was declared a late withdrawal at 1.47pm by order of stewards acting veterinary advice when that horse reared in the mounting enclosure and landed awkwardly.

VICE QUEEN which became fractious in the barriers broke through the front prior to the start being effected and galloped a short distance before being recaptured. VICE QUEEN was examined by the clubs veterinary surgeon. VICE QUEEN was declared a late withdrawal at 2.00pm by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice. All monies invested on PRIVATE JAMES and VICE QUEEN were ordered to be refunded with all successful wages made prior to 1.47pm be less the deductions of 16c in the face value of the win ticket and less 17c in the face value of the place ticket. Stewards further ordered all wages made between 1.47pm and 2.00pm be less the deductions of 4c in the face value of the win ticket and less 5c in the face value of the place ticket. Trainer Mr T. Rowe was advised that a further barrier certificate would be required prior to VICE QUEEN racing again.

VIKRAM (D. Phillpot) began awkwardly shifted out and bumped RASHEN ROULETTE (S. Morris).

PALE AGENDA (D. Crossland) over raced during the early and middle stages of the event.

THEBABINDIAN (App T. Fujinuma) raced wide throughout the event.

PALE AGENDA hung out rounding the home turn.

MISS DIZZEE IGEE (I. Toward) raced greenly in the home straight.

Near the 100m, MISS DIZZEE IGEE was steadied when tightened for room between MAURSACTION (M. Atkinson) and DREAM SCENE (J. Felix) which shifted in. J. Felix was reprimanded for careless riding.

I. Toward the rider of MISS DIZZEE IGEE was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts right out to the finish line.

Race 3: MARKET GARDEN PRODUCE CLASS 3 PLATE 1400M
1st – ACCOLADE 2ND – EVIDENCE 3RD – ROBIN THE HOOD 4TH – DESTINED TO REIGN

EVIDENCE (G. Kliese) and STRICTLY A DANGER (A. Cox) were both slow to begin.

When the pace of the race slackened leaving the 1250m, EVIDENCE, STRICTLY A DANGER and DREAM WARRIOR (I. Toward) all commenced to over race.

From the 300m, SPERT (K. Rockett) was held up and unable to obtain clear running until near the final 50m.

From the 200m and until passing the 100m ROBIN THE HOOD (S. Morris) was held up for clear running.

A post race veterinary examination of DREAM WARRIOR which raced wide throughout failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.



Race 4: FRANCEN PLUMBING OPEN HANDICAP 1250M
1st – JACOB’S TRICK 2ND – NOTHIN’ BUT A DANE 3RD – CAFFE DI CLANG 4TH – BETTER JETSETTER

NOTHIN’ BUT A DANE (G. Kliese) and HOBSON’S CHOICE (S. Morris) were both slow to begin.

CARRY ON ACE (J. Long) over raced during the early stages of the event.

SHANGHAI SULTAN (S. Kaya) over raced during the early and middle stages of the event.

CARRY ON ACE raced wide during the early stages of the event.

Over the concluding stages, BETTER JETSETTER (J. Felix) was held up for clear running when obtaining a narrow run between JACOB’S TRICK (I. Toward) and CAFFE DI CLANG (D. Philpot) where there was doubtful room. At a subsequent inquiry J. Felix was severely admonished and advised in future when attempting runs to make sure there is sufficient room to do so.


Race 5: BE AIR QTIS CLASS 2 HANDICAP 960M
1st – TWO TWENTY SWIFT 2ND – SMART OPINION 3RD – GAYLORD 4TH – SHE’S SUPREME

Stewards permitted K. Rockett to ride Smart Opinion one and a half koligrams over its declared weight as no other rider was available.

HILDA’S LADY (D. Philpot) which was fractious in the barriers and became cast was declared a late withdrawal at 4.48pm by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice. On the announcement of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on HILDA’S LADY be refunded with less the deductions of 9c in the face value of the win ticket and 10c in the face value of the place ticket. In this incident D. Philpot was transferred to Cairns Base Hospital for further examination. Trainer G. Philpot will be advised that HILDA’S LADY must barrier trial to Stewards satisfaction prior to racing again.

PUBZ (A. Cox) blundered on jumping away.

Apprentice T. Fujinuma the rider of POIROT in the presence of his master Mr R. Baker pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137 (a) for permitting his mount to shift in shortly after the start when being insufficiently clear of CAPITAL FLOW (S. Kaya) causing that runner being tightened for room and taken in onto STRICTY STYLE (S. Morris) resulting in CAPITAL FLOW having to be checked. App T. Fujinuma’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period covered by 2 NQ meetings to commence at midnight 20th June 2009 and to expire at midnight 27th June 2009.

PUBZ raced wide throughout the event.

Near the 600m, OUR RARE GEM (J. Long) and SHE’S SUPREME (I. Toward) were both inconvenienced when POIROT (App T. Fujinuma) shifted in slightly. App T. Fujinuma was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

SHE’S SUPREME (I. Toward) laid out under pressure in the home straight.
