Rounding the home turn DIVA DIOR (App. A. Holt) commenced to hang out and in the straight continued to do so when placed under pressure.

Near the 200 metres CALL A CAB (I. Toward) shifted out slightly, resulting in LYNDA’S NEVER LATE (L. Morrison) shifting out and away from that runner and forcing both ROYAL IMPACT (App. B. Swaffer) and VAULTING QUEEN (App. N. Bin Yadi) wider.

SARBI (T. Bannon) was slow to begin.

Approaching the winning post on the first occasion SARBI (T . Bannon) commenced to over-race and had to be steadied of the heels of DAMASHQUI (F.Edwards), and then on the turn out of the straight on the first occasion commenced to race ungenerously and threw its head up for some distance.

Approaching the entrance to the home straight SARBI (T. Bannon) had to be eased to avoid the heels of RONTJEN (M. Elliott).

Shortly after entering the home straight SARBI (T. Bannon) had to be eased when disappointed for a run.

In the early part of the home straight OUR PRIVATE JET (L. Morrison) had difficulty in obtaining a clear run.

Whilst stewards accepted that TEMPESTUOUS had a tendency to lay in, nevertheless Jockey Cullen was notified that in similar circumstances he must make more effort to avoid causing interference. In the incident CABINET (M. Elliott) and MISS HONAHLEE (A. Merritt) were inconvenienced as a consequence and had to be shifted wider.

Jockey W. D’Avila, the rider of GOGO DELAGO, was fined $200 under A.R. 137A(5)(a)(ii) for using his whip on the gelding on more than 5 occasions, namely 10 occasions, prior to the 100 metres.
