AL RAS BLUES – Shifted in under hard riding near the 150 metres crowding BRAND NEW. Jockey A. Holt was advised to show greater care when shifting ground.

When questioned regarding a barrier attendant holding the leg of the running rail near the 200 metres, official starter Ms. C. Ryan and club general manager Mr. C. Riches, explained that after the start had been effected and the barriers being delayed when being shifted to the inside of the track, it had inconvenienced the barrier staff’s effort to re-install the running rail which in their opinion was not safe and the decision was made for a member of the barrier staff to crouch in a still motion to hold the leg of the running rail in an upright position to prevent the rail sagging outwards and possibly falling down. Senior riders were questioned and advised stewards it had not hindered them in any way. Club general manager Mr. Riches advised stewards this matter would be further investigated going forward.
