Supplementary Report:
As Jockey R Kerwin was injured she was subsequently replaced on his rides as per the Stewards Summary.
As P Thureson was declared on rides, however had not renewed his license he was subsequently replaced as per the Stewards Summary and a number of late scratchings were affected.
Race 1: Lola Webster Class B H’Cap - 1000m.
After taking evidence from Starter R Jones, riders D Hutchins (CRAIGLEA CLASS) and A Ware (ISHKHAN), it was established that both horses were denied a fair start. Stewards acting under the provisions of AR134A ruled that both horses be declared non-runners and all monies invested on CRAIGLEA CLASS and ISHKHAN be refunded with deductions to all win bets less 26c and all place bets less 24c.
VICTORY MEMO jumped away awkwardly making contact with CALCUTTA.
Approaching the 900m, VICTORY MEMO shifted in and away from KWILBET, which shifted in.
VICTORY MEMO was severely held up for clear running from the 250m until approaching the 50m.
A post race vet examination of MISS JOKER failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Race 2: Neil & Lyn Hatchman Maiden Plate - 1000m.
Connections of YARN’S WAY, which was extremely slow to begin, were advised that a further barrier certificate would be required prior to next start.
RAP SHOW was held up for clear running approaching the 400m.
C Prow, the rider of DANCE FOR BINDY, which hung out rounding the home turn, was placed at a disadvantage from the 400m onwards after the saddle slipped on that gelding.
D Rewald, the rider of DRAMA MISS, which finished well back in field reported that from the 400m onwards the filly appeared to be favouring the off fore leg. A Post race vet examination reveal an injury to the off fore tendon. Trainer B Sheppard was advised that a vet certificate of fitness would be required prior to next start.
Race 3: XXXX Open H’Cap - 1200m.
EARLY GENIUS refused to jump as the start was affected losing considerable ground. Trainer D McEwan was advised that a further barrier certificate would be required prior to next start.
SELF TITLED and FLYING KWILA were both slow to begin.
HE’S SO CHEEKY was held up for clear running making the home turn.
Race 4: QTIS Warrego Wool Class 1 H'cap - 1200m.
AERO’S SPIKE through its head back as the start was affected losing considerable ground.
OTTIWELL jumped away awkwardly.
Leaving the 1000m, FATHER KNOWS BEST eased and lost ground, KING CORONA, which was following was forced to ease and lost ground.
KING CORONA was held up for clear running leaving the 400m.
Rounding the home turn, MR BOBCAT shifted in and away from STAND FOR THE KING, resulting in MALTESE BUR, which was racing to the inside, being tightened for room making contact with the running rail and losing ground. C Rogers, the rider of MALTESE BUR, sustained a laceration to her right foot in this incident; she was examined by the ambulance officer and declared fit to fulfil her mount in the last race.
Race 5: QRSE Edwards Saddle World Silver Cup Class 4 H’Cap - 1200m.
T Banks, the rider of STARS WILL DANCE, accidentally dropped his whip at the start.
STARS WILL DANCE was slow to begin.
Approaching the 400m, BIGSTAD was held up for clear running and lost ground behind the tiring REASONED.
