Apprentice H Akiyama (Top Faith) replaced R Hancock who was indisposed.
Jockey A Lane who was indisposed was replaced by: D Craven (Concert), A Parramore (South Sea Queen & Briar's Army)
Apprentice L McCoy (Pat’s Orphan) replaced M Smith-Lester who was indisposed.

RACE: 1. Stewards accepted the explanation of Trainer J Smith why the rider of Our Proud Tiger was not declared by the required time. Leaving the 200 metres Touch Of Sanity shifted in and brushed Our Proud Tiger. Proud Ascot shifted out over the concluding stages. Time off 12.32pm.

RACE: 2. Aklah and Miss McBeal made contact on jumping. Paddy’s Blues was forced to race wide in the early and middle stages. Time off 1.08pm.

RACE: 3. Swagman Sam was reluctant to load. Dalveen Dancer was slowly away. Leaving the 900 metres Wicky Po Po got its head up and raced ungenerously for some distance whilst being eased from heels. Approaching the 600 metres Wicky Po Po got its head up and lost ground whilst being eased from the heels of Display Centre which rolled in. Approaching the 400 metres Mr. Insurance was steadied from heels. Approaching the 150 metres Epsom Haige was eased when disappointed for a run between Mr. Insurance and Debbie’s Pride when both shifted ground. Approaching the 100 metres Driftwood Flight was eased when Display Centre shifted out. Time off 1.45pm.

RACE: 4. The start was delayed when Concert sprung a plate behind the barriers. Burgee was slowly away. Semi Dancer which jumped awkwardly and in made contact with the hindquarters of Shannon Star. Leaving the 800 metres Burgee and Semi Dancer made heavy contact. Approaching the 600 metres Burgee that was over-racing was eased from the heels of Sauveterre. Mad About Mary hung out throughout. Time off 2.22pm.

RACE: 5. Trainer D Gollan was fined the sum of $50 for failing to declare the rider for El Be Double You by the required time. Trainer T Gollan was fined the sum of $50 for failing to declare the rider of Little Rumbo by the required time. Trainer J McClaer was fined the sum of $50 for failing to declare the rider of Social Status by the required time. Apprentice N Evans who was distressed after riding in the previous event was stood down for this race on medical advice. A Merritt (Jolly Jeff) was the replacement rider. Milly’s Hat, which was slowly away hung out throughout. Jolly Jeff and Venona were slowly away. Leaving the 600 metres Northern Fear was tightened for room by Shannon Lee which was taken in by Red D’or. Shortly after Northern Fear shifted out and brushed the hindquarters of Shannon Lee resulting in Shannon Lee shifting in, tightening the running of Northern Fear which lost ground whilst being eased. Near the 600 metres Social Status whilst racing greenly shifted in and made contact with the running rail. El Be Double You traveled wide in the early and middle stages. Jolly Jeff was retired from the race when his saddle rolled to the off side near the 600 metres. When questioned Trainer L Ross stated that Apprentice A Merritt used an all-elastic girth on the gelding and this might have been the reason the saddle shifted. Mr. Ross said he does not have a liking for all elastic girths and would not be using one on the gelding next start, explanation accepted. Time off 2.58pm.

RACE: 6. Trainer T Judge was fined the sum of $50 for failing to declare the rider of Devil’s Claw by the required time. Apprentice N Evans was cleared by the ambulance officer to fulfill his engagement. Grande Arrow, Chariot La Bronte and Lord Kwila were slowly away. Approaching the1000 metres Lord Kwila was steadied when Kayte Be shifted in. Tinted Pago made the home turn wide. Chariot La Bronte shifted out over the concluding stages. Time off 3.32pm.

RACE: 7. Trainer M Hicks was fined the sum of $50 for failing to withdraw Sir Mead by the required time. At the start Majikarl and Top Faith made contact on jumping. Shortly after Top Faith shifted out making contact with Watagan Lass. Near the 850 metres Cannonball Jack that shifted in made contact with Majikarl. Leaving the 600 metres Watagan Lass was tight for room to the inside of Celestial Beat. Top Faith shifted out over the concluding stages. 4.08pm.

RACE: 8. Trainer B Winchester was fined the sum of $50 for failing to declare the rider of Roadinsky by the required time. Deli’s Delight reared as the gates opened losing considerable ground. Trainer R Hammermeister was advised that the mare was required to pass a barrier jump-out to the satisfaction of stewards prior to her next start. Leaving the 200 metres Brave Mac was steadied when crowded for room. Time off 4.44pm.

All winners were swabbed.
