Trainer M Hicks was granted permission to race WHYKICKME unshod behind, as they have failed on a number of occasions to shoe the gelding's hind feet.
PEDRO'S AMAIZING and SUITS JOE were slowly away.
TOO TOUGH knuckled on jumping.
Shortly after the start BOLD ALLUIVAL, WHYKICKME and GREEN LINE BOY were tightened for room between FLASH CIRCLE, which shifted out and BUSHWAH TUAN, which shifted in.
WHYKICKME made the home turn wide.
FLASH CIRCLE laid out over the concluding stages.

RACE 2: DALBY LIVESTOCK AGENTS CLASS 1H'CAP – 1000M.
BODSTER was slowly away.
JYI'S PROSPECT jumped awkwardly and in, making heavy contact with the gate.
For some distance leaving the 550m BODSTER raced in restricted room to the inside of TAIPAN RULER.
TAIPAN RULER shifted out over the concluding stages.

RACE 3: KEN SCHRECK MEMORIAL CLASS 4 H'CAP - 1200M.
NUMERO UNO was slowly away.
LE JESTER jumped away awkwardly.

RACE 4:FOODWORKS DALBY CLASS B H'CAP – 1400M.
GUS'S BEAUTY jumped away awkwardly.
TEST IN TIME raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
Approaching the 100m BATISM OF FIRE was held up for clear running.
FLYING SECRET and GUS'S BEAUTY raced wide throughout.

RACE 5:ERGON ENERGY PLOUGH INN CUP QTIS MAIDEN WEIGHT FOR AGE – 1400M.
ROAD VIXEN, MUSICAL COMEDY and SHEERSAN were slowly away.
NICOLOSI and SLICKS jumped away awkwardly.
Near the 450m CARRY THE FAIR was eased from the heels of NICOLOSI.
CARRY THE FAIR was held up for clear running from the 400m until leaving the 100m.

RACE 6:DALBY MACHINERY CENTRE DALBY CUP – 1400M.
RANGERS (S Van Klaveren), which dislodged the rider in the preliminary and made contact with the running rail was cleared by the veterinary surgeon to take its place in the field.
At the start COSMIC COMET, CRACKERJACK'S JACK and FLYING FEATHERS were all hampered by RANGERS, which jumped out.
GENTEEL BOY, FLYING FEATHERS and ZEMUS raced wide from the 700m.
On the point of the home turn CRACKERJACK'S HOPE, which shifted out to obtain clear running, took SLEEPY POET out, which then made contact with FLYING FEATHERS.

RACE 7:TUULA & SCOTT DALBY PARKVIEW MOTEL CLASS 3 H'CAP – 2000M.
WILD GUN jumped with its head in the air.
DARBONNAIRE was slowly away.
MY MARMALADE laid out in the home straight.
