SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS
RACE 1: ADELAIDE BANK CLASS B H’CAP (DIV 1) – 1000M
SHA KEEL and LEA’S LAD were both slow to begin.
ROCKET SOUND was forced to ease when tightened for room at the start between PETALAN and AUGUST FAIR, which shifted in.
PETALAN was inclined to over-race when held up for clear running between the 700m and 400m.
DREAM’S COMING raced wide through out.
RACE 2: ADELAIDE BANK CLASS B H’CAP (DIV 2) – 1000M
DENCOME, which was fractious in the barriers was inspected by the clubs vet and passed fit to start.
FANCY FEATHERS was slow to begin.
CRIMSON DANE, which was slow to begin, was hampered at the start when PIPE DREAM shifted out.
CRIMSON DANE was held up and unable to improve from the 700m until the 400m.
THE LOLLIPOP LADY had difficulty obtaining clear running from the 300m until the 200m.
DENCOME shifted in hampering PIPE DREAM near the 200m.
FANCY FEATHERS raced greenly when eased from the heels of THE LOLLIPOP LADY near the 100m.
RACE 3: SKANDIA MAIDEN PLATE (DIV 1) – 1200m
Prior to the declaration of correct weight a protest was lodged by L McCoy, the rider of the 3rd placegetter FILAJOY, against 2nd placegetter GRAND AS, alleging interference near the 200m. After hearing the evidence and viewing the patrol film stewards dismissed the objection on the grounds that the ground lost was insufficient to overturn the final margin.
GRAND AS and FILAJOY were both slow to begin.
GOOD ASSOCIATION raced with its head in the air and lost considerable ground whilst begin eased near the 1000m.
GRAND AS raced wide throughout.
A post race vet examination of GOOD ASSOCIATION failed to reveal any abnormalities.
RACE 4: SKANDIA MAIDEN PLATE (DIV 2) – 1200M
LOVE BEATS ALL was slow to begin.
CLASSY SYL reared as the start was affected and lost ground.
Connections of NUCLEAR SUNRISE, which hung out from the 600m onwards, were advised that a warning would be placed on the filly.
P Randall, the rider of BIG BAZZA, pleaded guilty to a charge, under AR137(a), of careless riding in that over the concluding stages he allowed his mount to shift out, under heavy riding, causing EASE THE FREEZE to shift out and check from his mount’s heels. P Randall’s license to ride in races was suspended from midnight 25/7/06 until midnight 6/8/06 a period of 8 meetings.
PRIZE ‘N’ GOLD raced wide throughout.
RACE 5: SCOTT KING/TERRY MCGOVERN SUNCORP CLASS 3 PLATE – 1200M
ECHO LAD was considerably slow to begin.
Near the 700m, IRIS KIAP was forced to ease from the heels of MISS SARAH JANE, which shifted in slightly.
MOROCCAN BOY raced wide throughout.
RACE 6: SAINTS QTIS CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1400M
Stewards permitted J Massett to ride ROCK YOUR BODY 1.5kg overweight as no other riders were available.
AQUATICS was slow to begin.
YOUNG LION shifted out at the start hampering MAMBO STAR and LLONGO CHIEF.
Connection of LOVE AND GOLD, which hung out badly from the 1000m onwards resulting in CHICKCHAT being hampered and FRAAREVA being forced wider on the track, were advised that a warning would be placed on that mare. A post race vet examination of LOVE AND GOLD failed to reveal any abnormalities.
An inquiry will be opened into an incident near the 600m, which resulted in CHICKCHAT being checked and losing ground.
A post race vet examination of GOODNIGHT SEATTLE, which tailed off, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
RACE 7: LRK WALKERS FLYING OPEN H’CAP – 1200M
FINLARIG and ODONATA were both slow to begin.
MONEE LANE was unable to obtain clear running from the 400m onwards.
SUNDAE JESTER was momentarily held up for clear running approaching the 200m.
ODONATA was held up for clear running leaving the 200m.
An inquiry will be opened into an incident over the concluding stages, which resulted in FINLARIG and ASTROFLASH being checked.
