SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS

RACE 1: -100F/BT FUNDS MANAGEMENT MAIDEN PLATE 1200M
1st-Vietato Fumare 2nd-That’swhatyouget 3rd-Jovial Joke 4th-Mighty Tsuimai

As App. S Sweedman was to be overweight he was replaced as the rider of MR PIN WA by J Warrington. At a subsequent enquiry S Sweedman pleaded guilty to a charge under Ar 120 (b) in that he accepted the ride on MR PIN WA when overweight. Stewards ordered that App. Sweedman’s licence to ride in races be suspended for a period of 9 meetings commencing midnight 24 July 2010 and to expire midnight 7th August 2010. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account App. Sweedman’s poor record in relation to this rule

Jockey P Timbery was dislodged on the way to the barriers from his mount VIETATO FUMARE which was quickly caught and returned to the barriers. VIETATO FUMARE was vetted and passed fit to race.

SEXY STAR was declared a late scratching by order of the Stewards at 1.26pm after the mare was unable to be loaded into the barriers. Upon the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered that all monies invested on SEXY STAR be refunded with deductions of 31cents the win and 21cents the place to apply to all successful bets. Trainer M Goodwin’s stable representative was advised by Stewards that SEXY STAR would be required to load satisfactorily in 2 official barrier trails prior to next racing.

VOLKALO (S Galvin) jumped out at the start making contact with VIETATO FUMARE.

VOLKALO whose rider lost his irons, TIGER CAT (B Thomson) and TRIBUTE TO VALOUR (J Murphy) were all severely inconvenienced and lost ground to avoid SUNWAVE which fell dislodging Jockey N Tomizawa just prior to the home turn. An enquiry was opened into the incident and after taking evidence from all riders the matter was adjourned as jockey Tomizawa was transported to hospital and unable to give evidence.

A post race Veterinary Inspection of SUNWAVE failed to reveal any abnormalities.

RACE 2: -OSTWALD BROS PTY LTD HANDICAP CLASS 1 1000M
1ST-Rapt In Rhythm 2nd-In Top Spin 3rd_ Tycoon Is In 4th-The Gadget Man

LOOK AT RUBY (J Warrington) was severely checked at the start when MARSCAYS EDITION (M O’Brien) jumped in badly, pushing MIDNIGHT CRISIS (S Egan) across LOOK AT RUBY’S running.

MIDNIGHT CRISIS raced keenly near the 800m when being restrained and threw its head in the air.

CRÈME LATTE (T Ide) shifted in shortly after the start crowding BOSS HOG (S Richardson) for room.

Near the 250m, FIORELLO (B Thomson) shifted in forcing CRÈME LATTE to alter course and shift in.

THE GADGET MAN (G Geran) was forced to alter course to obtain clear running over the concluding stages of the event.

A post race Veterinary Inspection of SILVER SCREAMER revealed the mare to have sustained a suspensory ligament injury to the off fore leg. Stewards advised connections that they would be required to obtain a Veterinary Certificate for SILVER SCREAMER prior to the mare being permitted to next race.

RACE 3: -ERM POWER/ARROW SOUTHERN GENERATION PLATE CLASS 3 1200M
1ST-Second Hand Mac 2nd-Tune Him Up 3rd-Anchor Bolt 4th-Military Way

.
KISS THE KING (G Geran) which was fractious in the barriers was slow to begin.

CREATED (B Richardson) was slow to begin.

Stewards plan to enquire into the reasons why HEARTRACER (M O’Brien) blundered near the 900m at a time and date to be fixed.

SECOND HAND MAC (A Smith) which changed stride at the winning post, shifted in momentarily contacting MILITARY WAY (S Egan).

Stewards questioned App. S Egan into his riding of MILITARY WAY, in particular as to the reasons why he sat 3 wide outside the leaders instead of moving forward to lead the race. App. Egan advised Stewards that his instructions were to not lead and then lost ground when he struck a heavy part of the track near the 600m before recovering and again running on. Stewards noted his explanation.

HEARTRACER bled from both nostrils during the event for the first time. Trainer R Kerwin was advised that HEARTRACER would be barred form racing for a period of 3 months and would be required to gallop 1000m, in the presence of a Steward prior to being permitted to next race.

After the race, TUNE HIM UP shied at the crossing about 150m after the finish line causing jockey R Kerwin to be dislodged. Jockey Kerwin was transported to Dalby Hospital for treatment.

RACE 4: -BLACK TOYOTA/SAINTS HANDICAP CLASS B 1400M
1st-Check The Leader 2nd-Lady Agulhas 3rd-Mayalbe 4th-Logans Hero

WHOSH (S Galvin) stood flat footed at the start and lost considerable ground. Trainer K Hill was advised by Stewards that she would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate in a jump out for WHOSH prior it to be permitted to next race.

GROOVER LANE (B Richardson) was hampered at the start by DON’T YOU WORRY (J Murphy) which jumped out.

IGGY’S GIRL (T Ide) and MAYALBE (P Timbery) came together on jumping away.

CHECK THE LEADER (S Egan) hung out rounding the home turn.

Stewards questioned J Warrington the rider of TO FOLLOW, in relation to the reasons why he raced very wide rounding the home turn. Jockey Warrington stated that after racing near the rail he shifted wider on the track near the 600m to avoid a heavy section of the track , however TO FOLLOW commenced to hang out which forced him wider on the track then he anticipated. Stewards noted his explanation.

RACE 5: -WHK HANDICAP OPEN 1400M
1ST- 2nd- 3rd- 4th-

ANDROUGE (S Egan) jumped in at the start.

VETTORI’S IMAGE (A Smith) was slow to begin.

KALMAN (J Murphy) raced wide throughout.

DE BONO (M O’Brien) shifted out rounding the home turn forcing BANG CLANG ALANG (S Sweedman) wider on the track.

App. S Sweedman reported to Stewards that BANG CLANG ALANG travelled well until the 600m, at which point the gelding failed to handle a heavy section of the racing surface and did not respond to his riding from that point on and as such in his opinion proved disappointing.
