Race 1: Kerry Millard MP People's Race Tamboo Maiden Plate - 1200m

MANNY SUGGESTIONS - Dislodged rider during the preliminary, making heavy contact with the outside running rail and declared a late scratching by stewards at 12.15 pm on veterinary advice. All monies invested on Manny Suggestions were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable. Trainer K. Hill was advised that she must provide a veterinary clearance prior to MANNY SUGGESTIONS being permitted to race again.

2 cents in the dollar for place of winner #6
6 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #4
8 cents in the dollar for 3rd plate # 8

GAMING ROOM - Examined by the veterinary surgeon prior to the start and cleared to race.

OUR STARLIGHT - Rider S. Chan pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that at a point approaching the 800m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of FLINDERS LUCK, which had to be checked and lose its rightful running. S. Chan was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 2 country race meetings, to commence at midnight, 14 September and to expire at midnight, 28 September.

FLINDERS DRAGON - Threw its head in the air near the 900m and raced ungenerously for a short distance when crowded for room.


FLINDERS LUCK - Checked nearing the 800m.

GENTLY GUIDED – Raced wide majority of race.


Race 2: Laurabada Sponsored by Federal Tyres Benchmark 70 H'cap 1300m

DIAMOND PEARL - Unable to be loaded into the barriers and declared a late scratching at 1.05 pm. Connections advised further barrier certificate required prior to next start.

All monies invested on Diamond Pearl were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable.

2 cents in the dollar for the Win # 4
10 cents in the dollar for place of winner # 4
15 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #3
5 cents in the dollar for 3rd plate # 2

ROMAN WATERS - Raced wide for the majority of the race.

STREAM OF LIGHT - Raced wide for the majority of the event.

RIVER OF GLORY - Rider B. Derbyshire was severely reprimanded for her use of the whip in the home straight.


Race 3: Kuhn Corp Press & Packaging Tequila Benchmark 65 H'cap - 1100m

Trainer S. Kendrick was fined the sum of $100.00 in that he failed to produce the I.D card for Mosscat.

VALHALLA MIST - Broke through the front of the barriers and travelled a short distance before being restrained. A veterinary examination cleared the horse to race.

BELGRANDO - Steadied and lost ground when tightened nearing the 900m.

MOSSCAT - Shifted in, causing a tightening approaching the 900m. Apprentice T. Brooker
was reprimanded.

TA RORA BOOM DE AY - Hung out leaving the 900m causing a tightening.

ZABOMB - Forced outwards and bumped leaving the 900m. Steadied near the 800m when racing in restricted room.

CONHENRI - Clipped heels and blundered leaving the 900m.



Race 4: Jim McKeering Real Estate Pagan Class 2 H'cap - 900m

JERROCITY - Slow to begin.

HALF A HERO - Raced wide for the majority of the event. Shifted in leaving the 400m, making heavy contact with the hind quarters of another runner and became unbalanced. The rider dropped his whip a short distance later. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

MI IDEA - Bumped heavily on the hind quarters leaving the 400m.

BUTTER'N'DASH - Hampered leaving the 400m.

LONG LIVE LOVE - Bled during the event. The horse is now banned from racing for a period of 3 months, and will be required to perform a 1000m galloped before stewards prior to racing again.


Race 5: Wayne Wilson Memorial Sandgate Cup Class 1 H'cap - 1300m

On return to scale a protest was lodged by B. Powell, rider of the 3rd placegetter THIS TIME LORD, against IGNEOUS being declared the winner, alleging interference approaching the 100m. After taking evidence from the parties concerned and viewing the stewards patrol video, and taking into account where this incident took place, stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that this incident warranted a reversal of the placings, and as such the protest was dismissed and correct weight was semaphored on the Judge's semaphored numbers.

SPUR ME UP - Began awkwardly.

THIS TIME LORD - Jockey B. Powell pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that near the 500m he permitted his mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear of CELTIC DRAGON, resulting in that horse making contact with the running rail and being severely checked. Jockey Powell's licence to ride in races was suspended for a period covered by 6 race meetings, to commence, 20 September and to expire at midnight, 1 October 2014.

IGNEOUS - Jockey D. Missen found guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that near the 100m, under hard riding he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of THIS TIME LORD, resulting in that horse having to be steadied and alter course. D. Missen, was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 7 meetings, to commence at midnight, 21 September and to expire at midnight, 2 October.





Race 6: Brisbane Bombers NRL Bid Deagon Cup Benchmark 70 H'cap - 2100m

ADENARIUS - Rider reported on return to scale that his mount had a tendency to overrace in the early and middle stages of the race, and further that the heavy impost of 60.5 kgs was a telling factor in the horse not being able to finish the race off.

Race 7: Woodstock Kentucky Bourbon & Cola Whopper Maiden Plate - 900m

Due to a misunderstanding, I. Coombes who was not riding at todays meeting was declared as the rider of JUAN KOOL KAT and was replaced by B. Powell.

EVERINGHAM - Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

JUAN KOOL KAT - Slow to begin.

ANOTHER WHISKEY - Shifted in near the 850m and bumped heavily.

MY MAISIE - Checked approaching the 800m.

MORANABON'S A ROCKA - Bumped heavily near the 850m. Forced inwards nearing the 800m.

KLEINTON KID – Raced wide majority of race.

FLINDERS DEAGON – Raced wide majority of race.

STELLA BANDIERA - Bled during event. Connections were advised that the horse would be banned from racing for a period of 3 months and will be required to perform a 1000m galloped before stewards prior to racing again.
