RACE 1: ST PATRICK'S DAY H'CAP - 1630M.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of STRANGE AURA, J. Stanley stated that the mare was never travelling that well, however in retrospect it may have been a better option for him to place the mare under more pressure from the 800m. and allow her to improve into the race 3 wide. He added that as it unfolded, the race developed into a sprint home and the mare did not run on as anticipated. Trainer K. Tinsley stated that although the mare appeared to be most disappointing on face value, he was prepared to attribute her performance to the pattern of the race and that she was not suited with 57 kg on a slow track in what developed into a sprint home. A veterinary examination of STRANGE AURA failed to reveal any abnormalities and a swab sample was taken from the mare.

At the 400m, ELITE TED had to be severely checked when attempting to improve to the inside of the tiring YANGAN LAD where there was insufficient room.
