Supplementary Reports
An inquiry which was opened into interference suffered by SUPREME RIFFS (G. Birney) and EXPERIENCE (M. Pelling) near the 1100m in Race 8 at Eagle Farm on 9 October was continued today. At the initial inquiry evidence was taken from M. Pelling, G. Birney and E. Dredge (FREE AS AIR), however the matter was adjourned to enable P. Hammersley and R. Morris to be present to provide evidence. After hearing further evidence and viewing the official video, it was established that as a result of the field racing extremely tight, STYLISH COSSACK (P. Hammersley) shifted in and away from runners and made contact with the hind quarters of FREE AS AIR, resulting in FREE AS AIR shifting in despite the efforts of its rider E. Dredge, resulting in interference being suffered by EXPERIENCE and SUPREME RIFFS. After considering all evidence, stewards were not able to apportion blame to any one particular rider.
