SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS
Trainer F. Adams advised stewards that following the performance of MISS GLAMOUR PUSS at Eagle Farm on 22 January, the horse had subsequently been treated for a muscular complaint in the neck and felt that may have had some bearing on the poor performance on that day.
Trainer D. Crouch was fined $400 for failing to notify riders for LINK HOGTHROB and MOORABBIN OVAL at Rockhampton on 2 February 2005 by the prescribed time. In assessing penalty stewards took into account Mr Crouch's poor record in relation to the notification of riders.

At the 600m GENERAL SAM (B. Stewart) shifted out to improve and made contact with QUAYTMAN (M. Carson).
Race 3: SUNNY QUEEN EGGS CLASS 6 3YO QTIS H'CAP – 1200M
1st – Gumnuts 2nd – Bunsen Honeydew 3rd – Star Of Asia 4th – Naval Seal
A veterinary examination of MISS GLAMOUR PUSS prior to racing revealed that the horse was suitable to race.
BUNSEN HONEYDEW (G. McKeon), SCARLET STALKER (A. Pattillo), WABESTO (C. Spry) and CAFFE FRANCAIS (B. Stewart) were all a little slow to jump.
MISS GLAMOUR PUSS (M. Pelling) and HALIBUT (A. Best) raced wide in the early and middle stages.
N. Jolly, the rider of 4th placegetter NAVAL SEAL, pleaded guilty to contravening AR. 137(b) in that he failed to ride his mount out right to the finish of the race and was fined $400.
AFLEET ZEPHYR cast its near hind plate in running.
Race 4: THE INDUSTRIAL GALVANISERS 2MW LY H'CAP 1350M
1st – Messiaen 2nd – Active Combat 3rd – Grandway Shogun 4th – Malta
QUADRANGLE was examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon who reported that the horse had sustained injuries travelling to the track and was not in a fit state to race and declared a late scratching at 1.25 p.m.
OMNITRADER was examined behind the barriers and found suitable to race.
ACTIVE COMBAT (G. Palmer) was inclined to overrace at the heels of MESSIAEN (G. Colless) after leaving the 800m.
KEEP THE ACE (M. Carson), which compounded and finished some distance from the bulk of the field, was found to be suffering soreness in the nearside knee. A veterinary certificate of fitness will be required before the horse races again.
Race 5: THE MINIMOVERS CUP CLASS 6 H'CAP – 1020M
1st – Bikini Bottom 2nd – Amaizing Style 3rd – Sonic Peak 4th – San Franfrisco
MONTE BIANCO (B. Hull) jumped away awkwardly and hampered OCTENNIAL (Y. Yamazaki).
MONTE BIANCO was obliged to race wide rounding the first turn and in the middle stages.
PURE SENSATION (A. Best) was forced to travel wide making the home turn.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of CRITICAL LIST, S. Galloway stated that the horse was under pressure on straightening and did not respond as expected over the concluding stages. He added that the horse was somewhat unsettled in its behaviour on the way to the barriers. Trainer's representative Mr M. Hawkes will be requested to notify stewards of anything that may come to his notice following the performance of CRITICAL LIST.
OCTENNIAL was examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon and was found to have blood in the offside nostril.
Race 6: THE LEADING HOTELS OF THE WORLD H'CAP – 1630M
1st – Step Ahead 2nd – Celtic Trial 3rd – Scenic Wells 4th – Top Marc
Stewards intend to interview R. McLeod at a date to be fixed as to his reason for not fulfilling his engagements on GENESIS and WORKING CLASS MAN (Race 8).
TOP MARC (J. Powell) jumped in at the start and made contact with THE KILDARE KID (B. Hull).
B. Stewart, the rider of BAAL YABBA, was cautioned for permitting his mount to shift in approaching the 800m which resulted in RANGERS (S. Galloway) being cramped for room and tightening the running of CELTIC TRIAL (J. Byrne), forcing that horse to contact the running rail.
Near the 800m TOP MARC was inclined to overrace and had to be eased off the heels of GENESIS (M. Pelling).
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of THE KILDARE KID, trainer R. Heathcote and jockey B. Hull were both at a loss to explain the disappointing performance other than the horse may have lost interest after being bumped by TOP MARC at the start. B. Hull added that after being caught three wide he elected to ease the horse, however it dropped the bit and did not finish the race off as expected. A veterinary examination of THE KILDARE KID failed to reveal any abnormality and a swab sample was taken. Trainer R. Heathcote undertook to notify stewards of anything that may come to his attention that had any effect on the disappointing performance.
Race 7: THE HEART RESEARCH INSTITUTE H'CAP – 1200M
1st – Mardi Gras 2nd – Silk And Money 3rd – Kas Nediym 4th – Au Chocolat
A protest lodged by A. Pattillo, rider of 3rd placegetter KAS NEDIYM, against 2nd placegetter SILK AND MONEY, on the grounds of alleged interference at the 350m was dismissed. After taking evidence from the riders and viewing the film, stewards were not satisfied that there was fully sufficient room for KAS NEDIYM near the 350m when attempting a run inside SILK AND MONEY.
MARDI GRAS (S. Galloway) jumped in at the start and made contact with KAS NEDIYM (A. Pattillo).
M. Paget, the rider of SILK AND MONEY, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that near the 200m he permitted his mount to shift out whilst riding it along, resulting in YODELLING DIXIE (Y. Yamazaki) being tightened and losing its position. M. Paget's licence to ride was suspended for a period of 7 meetings, to commence at midnight on Thursday, 17 February and expire at midnight on Wednesday, 2 March 2005.
Race 8: WWW.HRI.ORG.AU 0MW LY H'CAP – 1630M
1st – Miss Gloryhunter 2nd – Gazzam 3rd – Lara's Way 4th – Warrior Trader
An inquiry into the late notification of a rider for LARA'S WAY has been adjourned to allow further evidence to be provided.
N. Jolly was stood down by the Club's medical officer following his ride on SCENIC WELLS in Race 6 and as there was no rider available to ride the horse at the weight, stewards granted permission for M. Paget to ride the horse a half a kilogram overweight.
FINNIGAN (A. Pattillo) jumped outwards at the start and made heavy contact with EXPERIENCE (S. Galloway).
After travelling a short distance YOGI'S EDITION (N. Evans) shifted out taking GAZZAM (M. Paget) out on to WORKING CLASS MAN (A. Best).
Near the 1400m YOGI'S EDITION had to be steadied off the heels of MISS GLORYHUNTER (M. Pelling) which shifted in.
