Race 1: Oz Design Maiden 4yo & Up H'cap - 1030m
1st – Ro’s Purring 2nd – La Chance Finale/Nessun Dorma 4th – Mr Shadow Boxer

LA CHANCE FINALE (O. Turpin) and DANE’S INSIGNIA (K. Pope) were tightened on jumping away between HOPE OF SEVEN (E. Wilson) and PEARL OF PARADISE (D. Craven), which shifted in after beginning awkwardly.

Rounding the home turn, PEARL OF PARADISE (D. Craven) had to be steadied off the heels of MR SHADOW BOXER (T. Pannell), which shifted out to improve.

LADY HAGAN (A. Butler) and CARRY THE GIFT (T. Treichel) raced wide for the majority of the event.

Following this event, the track rating was upgraded to Dead 5.


Race 2: Integrated Appliance Group 3yo Maiden H'cap - 1030m
1st – Trail Boss 2nd – Pegunny Doubt 3rd – Harvzee 4th – Special Something

Trainer M. Lakey was reminded of his obligations to present his horses with correct gear.

HARVZEE, which was fractious in the enclosure shifted its near hind plate. After unsuccessful attempts to refit the plate, stewards permited the horse to race bare behind.

The start of this race was delayed after KUMALI broke through the barriers. After examination by the veterinary surgeon, the filly was cleared to start.

FLINDERS ZAHA (J. Letherby) began awkwardly.

HARVSEE (L. Cheshire) began awkwardly and shifted in, making contact with PEGUNNY DOUBT (R. Goltz).

KING OF LIGHT (D. Craven), which began awkwardly, was further tightened for room between TRAIL BOSS (J. Bowditch) and MODERN AL (E. Wilson), which shifted in.

COHETE (G. Killen) and PAY IN SILVER (T. Treichel) made contact shortly after the start.

TRAIL BOSS (J. Bowditch) overraced in the middle stages.

COHETE and PAY IN SILVER made heavy contact near the 900m.

COHETE and PAY IN SILVER raced wide for the majority of the event.


Race 3: Blum 2yo Maiden Plate - 1030m
1st – Sister Havana 2nd – Celestial Charger 3rd – D’Jet 4th - Fillydelphia

Trainer T. Crane was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for CELESTIAL CHARGER by the prescribed time.

Trainer D. Bougoure was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for DEFINE EASY by the prescribed time.

CELESTIAL CHARGER (A. Butler) and D’JET (G. Killen) made contact on jumping away.

SHOW US THE DIME (E. Wilson) began awkwardly, making contact with the hind quarters of DEFINE EASY (T. Pannell).

JAMAICAN DANCER (D. Barron) was slow to begin.

FILLYDELPHIA (O. Turpin) raced wide for the majority of the event.


Race 4: Caesarstone Maiden Plate – 1640m
1st –Bidthemobgooday 2nd – Indeed I Am 3rd – Cotham 4th – No Hurry

Trainer T. Gollan was fined $100 for the late change of rider from K. Banks to M. Radecker.

TEQUILAKOKO was declared a late scratching at 2.04 pm on veterinary advice after the mare took charge of its rider and galloped for a considerable distance. Subsequent to the event all monies invested on TEQUILAKOKO were ordered to be refunded, with deductions of 2 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets, 3 cents in the dollar on the face value of place bets.

INDEED I AM (K. Pope) began awkwardly.

COTHAM (R. Wiggins) was crowded for room shortly after the start between DESTINY DANZING (T. Pannell) and BIDTHEMOBGOODAY (T. Treichel), which shifted in.

COTHAM (R. Wiggins) was caught racing wide early.

INDEED I AM (K. Pope) was inclined to lay out rounding the home turn.


Race 5: Haffle Open H'cap - 1640m
1st – La Zeel 2nd – Rebounded 3rd – Sam’s Express 4th - Encosta

As K. Pope was to be overweight, T. Treichel was substituted as the rider of that gelding. K. Pope was fined the sum of $100.

JAZZ HEART (D. Tanti) was slow to begin.

JAZZ HEART and CARRIZO CREEK (C. Whiteley) both overraced for a short distance leaving the 1300m.

CROWNING FORCE (S. Apthorpe) overraced in the early stages of the event.

The saddle on CROWNING FORCE (S. Apthorpe) shifted forward approaching the 1000m, placing its rider at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event.

SAM’S EXPRESS (A. Butler) was caught wide in the early and middle stages of the event.

Approaching the 800m, ENCOSTA TSZYU was tightened for room by CROWNING FORCE (S. Apthorpe), which shifted in.


Race 6: Polytech Class 3 H'cap - 1640m
1st – Hallmark Star 2nd – Giorgio 3rd – Dual Code 4th – Afleet Rapper

Trainer K. Wood was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for FRANGELICO by the prescribed time.

Stewards permitted a change of rider on CAPE LEVEQUE from T. O’Sullivan to M. Radecker due to T. O’Sullivan being unable to make the weight. Stewards will question T. O’Sullivan regarding the matter at the earliest opportunity.

AFLEET RAPPER (J. Murphy), LILLY OF THE FIELD (T. Huxham), FAT POSSUM (A. Butler) and GIORGIO (C. Whiteley) were all tightened for room on jumping away between EEDEEAL (T. Pannell) and CAPE LEVEQUE (M. Radecker), both of which shifted ground. As a result of this incident, LILLY OF THE FIELD (T. Huxham) and FAT POSSUM were both checked and lost ground.

Approaching the first turn, EEDEEAL (T. Pannell) had to be steadied off the heels of KWILLEM (T. Treichel), which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.

BILLUM (D. Tanti) raced wide in the early and middle stages.

LILLY OF THE FIELD had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the straight.

HALLMARK STAR (O. Turpin) was inclined to lay in under pressure over the final 200m.

PRINCE OF FREEZE (A. Erhart) raced wide for the majority of the event.

J. Murphy, rider of AFLEET RAPPER, was fined $400 for using her whip more than the permitted number of times prior to the 100m.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of FRANGELICO, J. Bowditch stated he was concerned with the breathing pattern of the horse throughout the race as the horse was under pressure for the majority of the event. Trainer K. Wood confirmed his disappointment with the horse’s performance and was at a loss to explain the run as the horse had worked well leading into today’s event. Mr Wood added that he would monitor the horse’s progress over the next 24 to 48 hours and undertook to advise stewards of any abnormality that may come to light which may have had a bearing on the performance today.

A post-race veterinary examination of PRINCE OF FREEZE revealed the horse to be lame in the off foreleg. A veterinary certificate will be required before the horse races again.

Race 7: Kitchen Connection Class 1 H'cap - 1350m
1st – Tristabrave 2nd – Iggy’s Girl 3rd – Hangover Henry 4th – A Little Knowledge

Trainer B. Baldwin was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for HAWK EYED by the prescribed time.

Stewards questioned jockey C. Whiteley regarding his dual engagment on CASTING and COMZELITA. After taking some evidence, the inquiry was adjourned to enable stewards to make further inquiries regarding the matter. M. Heagney was substituted as the rider of COMZELITA.

BANANA KICK (B. Hull) was fractious in the barriers.

CASTING (C. Whiteley) and FLICKERING STORM (A. Butler) were tightened for room on jumping away between HANGOVER HENRY (R. Wiggins) and IGGY’S GIRL (O. Turpin), both of which shifted ground.

NO RANSOM (K. Pope) and SPIRAL GALAXY (D. Tanti) were slow to begin.

BANANA KICK (B. Hull) reared on jumping away.

SPANGLISH (J. Stanley), IGGY’S GIRL (O. Turpin) and CASTING (C. Whiteley) all raced wide for the majority of the event.

IGGY’S GIRL lost its off hind plate during the event.

A post-race veterinary examination of SKY BLOND revealed the horse to have an abnormal breathing pattern.

A post-race veterinary examination of FULUJA revealed the mare had been galloped on on the near fore and near hindleg.
Race 8: Laminex Class 4 H'cap – 1030m
1st –Moonan Kathleen 2nd – Wild Wilbur 3rd – Bruleur 4th – Shudule Gee

As M. Squires was ill, J. Stanley was substituted as the rider of that mare.

BRULEUR (R. Wiggins) was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon at the barriers after jockey R. Wiggins expressed concerned with the horse’s action. After examination the horse was cleared to start.

WINLANA (J. Stanley) and SHUDULE GEE (A. Butler) both began awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, MOONAN KATHLEEN (D. Tanti) was tightened for room when racing between HIGH SPIRE (O. Turpin) and MONASHEE DIVA (M. Heagney), which shifted in. As a consequence, HIGH SPIRE then shifted in, making contact with BRULEUR.

Near the 200m, MARTIROS had to be steadied off the heels of HIGH SPIRE (O. Turpin), which shifted out under pressure.

Jockey O. Turpin reported that HIGH SPIRE was inclined to lay in at various stages throughout the race.

MONASHEE DIVA, LICENCE TO STEAL (M. Radecker) and MARTIROS (J. Kropp) all raced wide for the majority of the event.

WINLANA, which yielded ground badly to finish a considerable distance from the winner, was declared ineligible to start at provincial meetings until stewards are satisfied that the hores can perform in the desired manner.
