LOREDANA, which commenced to lose ground from the 700m and shift wider on the track, was retired from the race near the 400m. A post race veterinary examination of LOREDANA revealed the horse had broken down in the near foreleg. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance would be required for LOREDANA prior to its next race start.

ROYAL SAVIVRE was inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
An explanation was sought from P. Hammersley regarding the performance of EASTERN DREAMS. Hammersley was of the view that EASTERN DREAMS would be better suited stepped up in distance. Tanti) to his outside, he surrendered that position as his running had commenced to tighten. G. Browne), resulting in BRIBIE being tightened and taken in on to the hind quarters of JET STAR GIRL, which was hampered and further resulting in BRIBIE having to be restrained to avoid the heels of ALKIORI. M. Vance was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 6 meetings, to commence at midnight, 11 April and to expire at midnight, 20 April.
