MODERN WARFARE (A. Allen) was restrained in the early stages to take a position closer to the running rail.

YASMINA (A. Mundy) raced greenly in the early stages.

OPTIONALITY (P. Schmidt) and ACCIDENTAL raced wide throughout.

Near the 400m MODERN WARFARE momentarily became awkwardly placed at the heels of ACCIDENTAL.

Near the 300m ACCIDENTAL became awkwardly placed on the heels of the tiring SCHWEIZ (N. Tomizawa) and was obliged to alter course to the inside of that runner to obtain clear running.

Apprentice K. Matheson, the rider of JACARANDA AVENUE, was issued with a severe reprimand for permitting his mount to shift out inside the 300m and make heavy contact with OPTIONALITY on several occasions. When OPTIONALITY was moved from its racing line near the 250m, SCHWEIZ, which was racing back and to the outside of OPTIONALITY, was inconvenienced as a consequence.

R. McMahon (BELVEDERE BLAST) lost the use of his nearside rein near the 200m.

JACARANDA AVENUE (K. Matheson) shifted its ground under pressure over the concluding stages.

LA FRISON BELLE (J. Byrne) was showing signs of slow post-race recovery following the event.

Rider A. Mundy was of the view that YASMINA did not handle the prevailing track conditions today. A post-race veterinary examination of YASMINA revealed the filly to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer T. Whittington was advised that he must produce a veterinary clearance for YASMINA prior to its next start.

TRICKIN (A. Allen), PRODUCT (G. Cooksley) and GREYZEEL (E. Wilkinson) were all taken inwards at the start by TENNESSEE BLUE (M. Hellyer), which shifted in, resulting in GREYZEEL making contact with HUSSMINDA (J. Brown), which lost ground as a result.

FLINDERS CITY (P. Schmidt) raced wide throughout.

Leaving the 800m REQUESTED (P. Hammersley) had to be momentarily steadied when tightened for room between SHAFEEQ (R. Myers) and FLINDERS CITY, which shifted in.

Apprentice J. Brown reported that despite her urgings in the early and middle stages HUSSMINDA lost contact with the main body of the field, however finished the race off very well over the concluding stages.

A post-race veterinary examination of GREYZEEL revealed that the gelding had sustained a laceration to the outside of the near fore pastern.

1st – Bradbury Chocolate 2nd – In A Storm 3rd – Top Of The Rock 4th – Golden Trinkets

D. Browne, the rider of MILITARY GRACE, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that near the 800m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of GOLDEN TRINKETS (K. Matheson), resulting in that horse being taken in on to the rightful running of SOCARADA (P. Schmidt), resulting in SOCARADA having to be checked by its rider to avoid the heels of GOLDEN TRINKETS. In the incident SOCARADA overacted and lost considerable ground. D. Browne’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 meetings, with the term to commence at midnight on Sunday, 22 July, and expire at midnight on Sunday, 5 August 2012.

SOCARADA shifted out rounding the home turn to obtain clear running, taking BRADBURY CHOCOLATE (A. Allen) wider on the track.
