SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:

From Eagle Farm, 6.3.13

Trainer R. Lyford reported that following the poor performance of Retracted, a veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a slight upper respiratory infection which had been treated accordingly.

Race 1: Mount Franklin Maiden Plate – 1630m
1st – Closed In 2nd – Pinespun 3rd – Power Keeper 4th - Acadane

PINESPUN (A. Allen) was slow to begin and then was hampered by DIAVEL (M. Cahill), which shifted in.

POWER KEEPER (G. Cooksley) was slow to begin.

PINESPUN was held up rounding the home turn for clear running.


Race 2: Hidden Dragon @ Lyndhurst F & M Class 3 H'cap – 1110m

MISHANI SINNER (J. Byrne) and MUSICAL LADY (R. Wiggins) jumped away awkwardly.

FORMAL PRINCESS (A. Spinks) commenced to hang out after leaving the 700m, resulting in its saddle shifting forward, placing A. Spinks at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race. This also allowed EGYPTIAN TOMB (T. Harrison) to improve to the inside after leaving the 500m. Connections of FORMAL PRINCESS were advised that a warning would be placed on the racing manners of mare.

M. Cahill reported at scale that POET’S WISH was slightly disappointing in that the filly failed to finish the race off as expected.

Following this race the track rating was upgraded to Slow 6.


Race 3: Yelowglen CG&E Class 3 H'cap – 1110m

J. Morris reported at scale that the saddle on HEART THROB shifted back on jumping away, placing him at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race. He added that due to the saddle shifting, HEART THROB raced more forward than anticipated.

A post race veterinary examination of WHISKEY HIGHWAY, revealed the gelding to have bled. Connections were advised that WHISKEY HIGHWAY would be barred from racing for a period of 3 months.

A post race veterinary examination of BATON TWIRLER, which tailed off, failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.


Race 4: National Apprentice Series Class 3 Plate - 1350m

Trainer R. Lyford reported that following the poor performance of Retracted last start a veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a slight upper respiratory infection which has been treated accordingly.

Correct weight was delayed to allow G .Goold, rider of the 4th placegetter, to view the video footage in the straight to ascertain if he had grounds to lodge a protest against the winner. Subsequently, G. Goold declined to lodge a protest.

DAISY CAN TOO (A. Taylor), DEFAULT (K. Bishop) and BATHILDA (R. Hill) were slow to begin.

Making the first turn, MOMENT OF IMPACT (P. Schmidt) shifted in and brushed the running rail. At the same stage, NEVER DESPAIR also brushed the running rail and shifted out hampering IN A STORM (A. Allen). BATHILDA (R. Hill) ,which was following, shifted out away from the heels of INA STORM and as a result forced DEFAULT and DAISY CAN TOO wider on the track.

A short distance later, SKATING AWAY (K. Mallyon) steadied away from the heels of DAISY CAN TOO, which shifted in. A. Taylor, rider of DAISY CAN TOO, was advised to be fully clear when shifting ground in future.

Near the 700m, BATHILDA shifted out, taking PINTUCK (B. Muhcu) and DEFAULT wider.

GO THE BLAZE (S. Guymer) was held up for clear running from the 500m until after leaving the 300m.

Apprentice B. Muhcu, rider of PINTUCK, was reprimanded for using his whip 6 times in a forehand manner prior to the 100m.


Race 5: Darley Australia Maiden H'cap – 1350m

LEUROCITY (R. Wiggins) blundered on jumping away.

CASINO CENTURY (G. Colless) was slow to begin.

Approaching the 1000m, HI CODY (J. Lloyd) had to be steadied away from the heels of OUTBACK GAMBLER (G. Goold), which was taken in by MAUVE LOTUS (M. Vance). M. Vance, rider of MAUVE LOTUS, was reprimanded and advised to be fully clear when shifting ground.

THORN MAN (T. Harrison) brushed the running rail near the 900m.

BONTEENA (D. Browne) raced wide in the early stages and was ridden forward to take up a position outside the leader near the 800m.

THORN MAN was held up for clear running in the early stages of the straight.

HI CODY (J. Lloyd) raced wide without cover throughout the race.

A. Spinks, rider of PEDIMENT, was reprimanded for excessive use of his whip in a backhand manner.

A post race veterinary examination of BONTEENA failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

A post race veterinary examination of MAUVE LOTUS revealed the colt to be lame in the off foreleg. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance would be required for MAUVE LOTUS prior to its next race start.

A post race veterinary examination of HI CODY failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.






Race 6: Landfill Logistics LTD Maiden H'cap - 1110m

Trainer D. Heinemann advised that Arctic Passage has had surgery for a slight fracture of the canon bone and has since been passed fit to race by the his veterinary surgeon. Arctic Passage was also examined today by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.

DASHING CHARGER, which slipped in the mounting enclosure, was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.

I SMARTICUS (P. Holmes), which was restless in the barriers, was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.

DASHING CHARGER (J. Lloyd) raced greenly in the early stages and near the 700m was brushed by WRITTEN ABOVE ALL (D. Browne) and became unbalanced.

Passing the 600m, SCHIAVONE (A. Spinks) had to be steadied away from the heels of the tiring DASHING CHARGER (J. Lloyd).

ABOVE US (A. Allen) was inclined to lay out rounding the home turn.

ARCTIC PASSAGE (G. Goold) raced wide without cover throughout.

The veterinary surgeon reported that I SMARTICUS was showing signs of a slight amount of blood in a nostril following the event. On the advice of the veterinary surgeon, stewards ruled that I SMARTICUS was not a bleeder.


Race 7: Ascend Sales QTIS 3yo H'cap – 1030m

Connections advised that KISS MY DRAGON would be ridden more forward, possibly gaining the leading position. KISS MY DRAGON settled outside the leader.

Connections advised that WARHOGG would be ridden back in the field with cover from the wider barrier. WARHOGG was ridden back in the field.

MEDDLESOME MISS (C. McIver) was slow to begin.

WARHOGG (G. Colless) jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

FALLFORME (D. Browne) was slow to begin.

Near the 700m, THE RIGHT ONE (J. Lloyd) had to be steadied away from the heels of KYAMBA’S DESTINY (A. Allen).

Passing the 400m, FALLFORME (D. Browne), when being steadied off the heels of SURF FIRE (J. Byrne), shifted out and made contact with KYAMBA’S DESTINY (A. Allen).

ROSE OF CLARE (G. Killen) laid out on the home turn, allowing TIGER DIMEGAN (R. McMahon) to improve to the inside. ROSE OF CLARE continued to shift out and hampered KISS MY DRAGON (K. Matheson) near the 250m. KISS MY DRAGON then shifted in and had to be steadied away from the heels of ROSE OF CLARE near the 200m. G. Killen reported ROSE OF CLARE had a tendency to lay out at its last 2 starts at Ipswich and Sunshine Coast and he was concerned something may be amiss with the filly.

Shortly after entering the straight, KYAMBA’S DESTINY then had to be steadied from the heels of AGENT AL, which shifted in.

ROBERT’S COMMAND (M. Vance) and AGENT AL (G. Lynch) raced wide without cover throughout.




Race 8: Skyracing.TV Benchmark 75 H'cap – 1630m

BLACK CASH, which was examined by the veterinary surgeon at the barriers and found to have blood in its near-side nostril, was declared a late scratching at 4.47 pm. Subsequent to the event, all monies invested on BLACK CASH were ordered to be refunded, with the following deductions applicable.

22 cents in the dollar for the win of I’llbetricked
17 cents in the dollar for place of winner I’llbetricked
16 cents in the dollar for 2nd Sweet Little Filly
19 cents in the dollar for 3rd place Index Page

Subsequently, K. Doughty, trainer of BLACK CASH, pleaded guilty to a charge under AR140(a), in that she failed to report a condition which may have effected the performance of BLACK CASH in this race when that gelding had hit its head in the tie-up stalls earlier in the day. K. Doughty was subsequently fined the sum of $400.

TRAPUNTO (J. Taylor) pulled hard in the early stages and then was inclined to lay in, placing its rider at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race. A post race veterinary examination of TRAPUNTO revealed the gelding to be lame off fore. Connections advised that TRAPUNTO would now be sent for a spell.

G. Colless reported that OUR TRIPLE TREAT proved disappointing and could offer no explanation for the performance.
