SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
Stewards questioned trainer M. Dunn regarding an elevated TCO2 level from a blood sample taken from QFIGHTER when it won at Eagle Farm on 26 October. Mr Dunn explained that he added electrolytes to the water of all his horses and at the relevant time his stable veterinarian had supplied a different electrolyte mix which in his view resulted in QFIGHTER returning an elevated level. Mr Dunn added that he has since reverted to using his previous electrolyte mixture. Stewards have visited the stables of Mr Dunn and taken a resting sample from QFIGHTER which was found to be within the normal TCO2 range. Stewards reminded Mr Dunn of the provisions of AR. 178AA(1)(b), which prohibits the use of alkalinising agents in any manner at any time during the one clear day prior to the day of the scheduled race.

Colgan) had to be steadied from the heels of ELIZABETH’S DREAM. A short distance later ELIZABETH’S DREAM then laid in and bumped ZIPS A DAISY.

Ms Vance was unable to offer any tangible explanation for the disappointing performance. Trainer T. Gollan expressed his disappointment in the performance of EPSILON and was unable to tender any explanation. Mr Gollan undertook to have further veterinary tests conducted on the horse, the results of which he would report back to stewards.
