WEATHER - FINE TRACK - GOOD RAIL - 10M. ALL TRACK
RACE 1: SASHA BIJOU H'CAP - 1300M.
As A. Morrison was indisposed, M. Dracos was substituted as the rider of DRY MARTINI.
MAGGIE'S LOVE jumped awkwardly and made contact with BELLE PAREZ.
DRY MARTINI also jumped awkwardly and made contact with SPHAIRA.
After leaving the 1200m., MAGGIE'S LOVE, which was racing greenly, shifted in and made heavy contact with GANGREL.
A short distance later, GANGREL shifted in, resulting in SOBROTH having to be steadied.
After leaving the 800m., TOORACOO commenced to race ungenerously and had to be restrained off the heels of NATIONAL SPIRIT.
Near the 700m., TOORACOO shifted out, which enable MAGGIE'S LOVE to improve to that mare's inside.
Making the crossing, MAGGIE'S LOVE had to be checked when tightened for room by TOORACOO, which shifted in after brushing BELLE PAREZ.
Near the 500m., MAGGIE'S LOVE again had to be checked when tightened for room between TOORACOO and GANGREL, which shifted out slightly.
At the 50m., GANGREL shifted out and brushed MAGGIE'S LOVE.
RACE 2: OPPRESSOR H'CAP - 1000M.
YALLAKAZAAN jumped awkwardly.
Inside the 100m., WINNING BLIND was inclined to lay in under pressure.
BETTER WAKE up was forced to race wide throughout the event.
RACE 3: LORD MEDES H'CAP - 1300M.
DOWNTOWN MANHATTEN jumped awkwardly and shifted out, causing STAR STRIKE to be checked.
PRECISION TIMING was slow to begin.
SENTRIES was hampered shortly after the start when tightened for room between MAXIMUS EQUUS and WILLY NILLY.
Approaching the 1000m., STAR STRIKE had to be steadied when tightened for room by SENTRIES, which was taken in by ROGUES TO RICHES.
Near the 900m., DOWNTOWN MANHATTEN had to be restrained off the heels of BON VIVEUR, which shifted in. As a result, SENTRIES, which was following, also had to be steadied.
M. Cahill reported that HELL RAISER was inclined to hang in in the middle stages.
D. Tanti, rider of DOWNTOWN MANHATTEN, reported that his saddle shifted to the near-side in the straight.
Close to the finish line, ROGUES TO RICHES had to be steadied when disappointed for a run between BON VIVEUR and SETCLASE.
RACE 4: HONDOMATIC H'CAP - 1200M.
CAMINO REAL was slow to begin.
DANEHILL STAR shifted out on jumping away and made contact with JANADI, which in turn shifted out, hampering GALACTIA.
RACE 5: RISING FEAR H'CAP - 2162M.
SINGING STORY was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon at the barriers and passed fit to start.
S. Shield, rider of GAUDEAMUS, was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift in passing the winning post on the first occasion, tightening the running of SINGING STORY.
A short distance later, SANDY SEA, which was racing in restricted room between GENTEEL BOY and SINGING STORY, made contact with the hind quarters of SINGING STORY, which became unbalanced and shifted in. As a result, SANDY SEA had to be checked.
For some distance approaching the 1800m., GAUDEAMUS raced in restricted room between SINGING STORY and OUR CHEVAL, which shifted in. D. Griffin, rider of OUR CHEVAL, was reprimanded.
Jockey K. Bell and trainer P. Sexton were questioned in relation to the disappointing performance of LUSKIN WARRIOR. K. Bell stated that the gelding had overraced in the early stages and then failed to respond to his riding in the straight. Trainer P. Sexton was unable to offer any excuse for the performance other than the gelding may be looking for a break from racing, and it would be his intention to advise owners to spell LUSKIN WARRIOR. A veterinary examination of LUSKIN WARRIOR failed to reveal any abnormality and a swab sample was taken.
RACE 6: FAUX TIARA H'CAP - 1600M.
ANOTHER ROAD was slow to begin.
Near the 800m., HOT SCORPION, when being restrained off the heels of THE DON, shifted out and made contact with TORCIDO.
S. Galloway, rider of CROCKETT, accidentally dropped his whip near the 300m..
Near the 50m., EN BATEAU shifted out and brushed CHARIOT'S ISLE.
M. Dracos reported that he felt something was amiss with TORCIDO over the concluding stages. A veterinary examination of TORCIDO failed to reveal any abnormality.
RACE 7: FULL SUIT H'CAP - 1200M.
TEST RUN was slow to begin.
Shortly after the start, PICNIC BY THE BAY commenced to race fiercely and continued to do so for some distance.
From the 500m. to the entrance of the straight, RIVER AFFAIR raced in restricted room to the inside of ASPEN VALLEY. RIVER AFFAIR then had difficulty obtaining clear running from the 100m. to the finish post.
RACE 8: WHUTU H'CAP - 1400M.
Shortly after the start, KAVORKA and HARVEYNICKS came together, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced.
Near the 900m., BULL POWER shifted out from behind the heels of CORROFIN, forcing ENTITY wider on the track.
S. Katsidis, rider of CUMBRIA, was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift out to improve near the 450m. when not clear of IMPOSING SAL, resulting in IMPOSING SAL being forced wider on the track. KAVORKA, which was following, was obliged to shift out to avoid the heels of IMPOSING SAL.
At the 300m., KAVORKA shifted out to improve, inconveniencing IMPOSING SAL.
Approaching the 200m., DOFF shifted out and made contact with IMPOSING SAL.
At approximately the 50m., KAVORKA shifted in under pressure, taking IMPOSING SAL in on to the tiring BULL POWER.
ALL WINNERS AND LUSKIN WARRIOR WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
