WEATHER – OVERCAST TRACK – GOOD RAIL – OUT 1M
RACE 1: KING OF KINGS H'CAP – 1400M
On jumping away EVIL SNIP threw its head, striking its rider M Dracos in the face.
RACE 2: C E MCDOUGALL SUPER QRIS ADDED STAKES – 1200M
Trainer W Winters was advised that RAW DIAMOND, which proved difficult to load, would be required to pass a further barrier test prior to its next start.
M Rodd, the rider of RAW DIAMOND, reported that in the middle stages of the event his saddle shifted back, which caused him some inconvenience rounding the home turn when the filly was inclined to shift ground.
A veterinary examination of RAW DIAMOND following the event revealed the filly to be shin sore in both forelegs.
RACE 3: J F MEYNINK SUPER QRIS ADDED STAKES – 1200M
At the 500m BULLALA shifted out and bumped LUXURY EXPRESS, causing that horse to become unbalanced. As a consequence, LUXURY EXPRESS shifted out hampering GRANDWAY SHOGUN, forcing that horse wider on the track. B Cooper, the rider of BULLALA, was urges to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
S Katsidis, the rider of DYNAMIC DANCER, was also cautioned for shifting ground outwards at the top of the straight, resulting in BULLALA having to be steadied.
RACE 4: YULETIDE H'CAP – 1600M
NO RACING INCIDENTS
RACE 5: SANTA CLAUSE H'CAP – 1805M
At the 1600m PLANET KING had to be steadied when tightened for room by MASTER RAIDER which was taken in slightly by CREATIONS (S Seamer). It was established that S Seamer's efforts to relieve the tightening were hindered when MORINGA'S GULLIVER improved quickly to CREATIONS' outside.
For the entire length of the straight ANOTHER WARRIOR was held up behind MORINGA'S GULLIVER and to the inside of FINAL FORECAST.
After leaving the 150m VACEN LEE had to be checked when tightened for room between MASTER RAIDER and BRITANNICUS. Whilst it was established that BRITANNICUS had initially shifted in slightly and contributed to the tightening, J Stanley, the rider of MASTER RAIDER, was nonetheless reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift out under extreme pressure, causing VACEN LEE to be tightened.
The Club's veterinary surgeon reported that WINSTED sustained a laceration to the inside bulb of heel on the near hind leg.

RACE 6: CHRISTMAS H'CAP – 1200M
THE WRECK was slow to begin.
When the pace slackened at the 700m THE WRECK had to be checked off the heels of CITY HALL and shifted out forcing MACHTIG MIHI PANIS into a three-wide position. TREASURE THE KWILA, which was following, also had to be steadied, which resulted in MIGHT AND GOLD being obliged to shift out, hampering OURS and REBEL WITH A CAUSE.
THE WRECK was held up for clear running in the early stages of the straight.
MIGHT AND GOLD also had difficulty obtaining clear running in the straight.
For some distance after leaving the 200m TREASURE THE KWILA was reluctant to take a narrow run between MACHTIG MIHI PANIS and THE WRECK and nearing the 50m had to be steadied when THE WRECK shifted out slightly.
RACE 7: JUST NOW H'CAP – 1300M
HERE FOR GLORY, which was a little slow to begin, was further hampered by GILDED WINGS which jumped out at the start.
CITICHY raced ungenerously in the early stages.
Passing the 800m STYLISH EYES had to be steadied off the heels of MODEL MATERIAL which shifted in. A Merritt, the rider of MODEL MATERIAL, was reminded of his responsibility to provide at least two lengths clearance when shifting ground.
Soon after the 600m ENA'S TREASURE had to be steadied off the heels of STYLISH EYES which shifted out after making the crossing awkwardly.
CANGAZE broke down at the 300m. The Club's veterinary surgeon reported that CANGAZE had fractured the near fore fetlock and was euthanased on humane grounds.
G Palmer, the rider of CITICHY, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that nearing the 300m he permitted his mount to shift out resulting in ENA'S TREASURE, which was racing between CITICHY and STYLISH EYES, having to be checked when tightened for room. G Palmer was suspended for a period of 7 meetings, to commence immediately and expire at midnight on Thursday, 27 December.
RACE 8: STAR OF BETHLEHEM H'CAP – 1200M
RULENZA ROAD jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.
ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
