STEWARDS PANEL: Mr A. Reardon (Chairman), Mr J. Hackett, Mr W. Flynn, Mr R. Sanders, Mr C. Waller (Cadet).

WEATHER - FINE TRACK - GOOD RAIL - OUT 10.5M ALL TRACK


RACE 1: DANCING POET H'CAP - 1400M.

EUROTEC was a late scratching at 9.05 a.m. when the mare sustained an injury in transit to the track. A veterinary certificate will be tendered.

ICY SECRET and ARDOSH were slow to begin.

Near the 1100m., BR'ISLAND BOY had to be steadied to avoid the heels of ALFRISTON, which shifted in. M. Williamson, rider of ALFRISTON, was cautioned and advised to be 2 lengths clear when shifting ground in future.

ALFRISTON hung out making the home turn.

After leaving the 400m., PICASSO shifted out and brushed ALFRISTON.



RACE 2: LUCKY CLOUD H'CAP - 1200M.

KARMILLA was obliged to race wide in the early and middle stages.

Passing the 800m., GOTTA BE GOOD had to be restrained off the heels of INTRODUCE.

J. Taylor, rider of AGEAN PRINCESS, accidentally dropped his whip at the entrance to the straight.


RACE 3: SPEEDITO H'CAP - 1200M.

ECSTASY jumped awkwardly.

IRON ORE was obliged to race wide throughout the event.

M. Rodd, rider of ECSTASY, was severely reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift in near the 800m., tightening the running of MR. VELOCHEE, which in turn shifted in, resulting in BEAUTY KINGDOM having to be steadied.


RACE 4: MANAWAPOI H'CAP - 1200M.

BARSHALLAH and JOE JITSU were slow to begin.

CEETU jumped awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, NUZZLE shifted out, taking CHEEKY BOGGY out on to CHARINO, which was taken out on to the hind quarters of GENERAL QUARTERS and had to be checked.

Near the 700m., JOE JITSU, when being steadied off the heels of NUZZLE, shifted out, forcing GENERAL QUARTERS and BARSHALLAH wider on the track.

After leaving the 600m., JOE JITSU continued to shift out, again forcing GENERAL QUARTERS and BARSHALLAH wider on the track.

MAXCAY blundered near the 550m..

Over the concluding stages, JOE JITSU was hampered when tightened for room between CEETU and GENERAL QUARTERS, which shifted ground under pressure.

TRIPLE PE sprung its near fore plate in running.


RACE 5: SIR WISP H'CAP - 2166M.

As K. Mahoney was indisposed, K. Pope was substituted as the rider of PRIME INVESTMENT.

Near the 900m., TELL DARCY shifted out to improve, forcing IDLE WARRIOR wider on the track.



RACE 6: INNISFREE H'CAP - 1300M.

BRAVE COURT made contact with THUNDERMANN on jumping away.

Approaching the 1000m., MUKANIC, which was racing ungenerously, had to be steadied when tightened for room by KAVORKA, which was taken in by JEEPERS. Z. Purton, rider of JEEPERS, was advised to exercise more care in future.




RACE 7: MISTER HUSH H'CAP - 1500M.

As J. Powell was indisposed, G.Colless was substituted as the rider of JACK'S ARRIVAL.

Near the 900m., when being restrained off the heels of NED'S REVENGE, DOLLINGER shifted out abruptly.

From the 400m. to the 250m., AULD HAT was held up and unable to improve when racing behind DASH OF BAY.

VIANGAR ran wide making the home turn.




RACE 8: DAYBREAK LOVER H'CAP - 1600M.

After leaving the 1000m., ZEE was inclined to hang out and as a result forced IT'S GRAND wider on the track.


ALL WINNERS AND MUKANIC WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
