SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS

As P. Spry, C. Spry and C. Small were ill, riding changes were made as per the stewards summary sheet.

Race 1: Charmosa Maiden 2yo H'cap - 1000m.
1st - No Mistake 2nd - Silver Lion 3rd - Bellachenka 4th - Dankwila

NO MISTAKE, which was kicked on the near hind leg behind the barriers, was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.

HURRICANE HANNAH (A. Pattillo) was slow to begin.

Shortly after the crossing, DANKWILA (B. El-Issa) blundered.


Race 2: Paravane 3yo Maiden H'cap - 1300m.
1st - Dime 2nd - Ross Henry 3rd - Mojave Brave 4th - Natural Glamour

ROSS HENRY, which was kicked on he near hind leg behind the barriers, was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.

NATURAL GLAMOUR (B. El-Issa) was slow to begin.

MOJAVE BRAVE (A. Pattillo) jumped away awkwardly.

After passing the 1000m., ROSS HENRY (B. Stewart) commenced to overrace and near the 900m. had to be steadied off the heels of SONG FONG BLUE (K. Cunningham).
Race 3: Osmunda Class 4 H'cap - 1800m.
1st - We Can't Say That 2nd - Active Rest 3rd - Bit Of Magic 4th - Go Gazza

When questioned regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of MR LISTER, jockey B. Stewart stated that the gelding traveled well in the early stages, however when placed under pressure prior to the 600m., in his opinion, MR LISTER failed to handle today's track conditions. Trainer Mr L. Ross also stated that, in his opinion, MISTER LISTER failed to handle the heavy track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination of MR LISTER failed to reveal any abnormality.


Race 4: Bengalla Lad 3yo & Up Maiden H'cap - 1500m.
1st - Merry Pierce 2nd - Mick's Title 3rd - Winegrove 4th - Battle Lover

MICK'S TITLE (G. Palmer) jumped inwards at the start, making contact with PRIXIMO (T.Pannell).

Trainer A. Bailey's representative, Ms S. Thomson, was advised that a warning was being placed on BATTLE LOVER, which attempted to buck shortly after the start, losing ground.

Near the 1400m., PROXIMO (T.Pannell) had to be steadied when tightened for room between BEATTIE'S VICTORY (B. El-Issa) and OUR HEART THROB (J. Byrne), which was taken in by MERRY PIERCE (G. Colless). G. Colless, rider of MERRY PIERCE, was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

After passing the 1400m., PROXIMO was tightened for room between BEATTIE'S VICTORY, which shifted out, and DAYT'WIN, which shifted in slightly.

Jockey M. Cahill reported that the saddle on DAYT'WIN slipped approaching the 1200m., placing him at a disadvantage for the majority of the race.

Approaching the 600m., MICK'S TITLE (G. Palmer) raced up on to the heels of OUR HEART THROB and had to be steadied.


Race 5: Don't Play Class 3 C, G & Entires H'cap - 1200m.
1st - Aim So High 2nd - Jaegers 3rd - Loughnan 4th - Tranquil Blue

When questioned, M. Cahill stated that, in his opinion, LOUGHNAN was not entirely comfortable in today's track conditions, especially in the early and middle stages.

Near the 100m., TRANQUIL BLUE shifted in and brushed JAEGERS (T.Pannell).


Race 6: Lord Penn Welter H'cap - 1000m.
1st - Katabatic 2nd - Sir Mukafast 3rd - Mt. Gower 4th - A Little Dabl Doya

A LITTLE DABL DOYA (P. Hammersley) was slow to begin.

Shortly after the start, MALTA (M. Cahill) and SIR MUKAFAST (R. McMahon) were tightened for room between SEAHAWK LASS (B. El-Issa) and GUILDED TIARA (J. Byrne), which shifted in.

Approaching the 600m., LEVANTE (D. Ballard), which was inclined to lay in, had to be checked when tightened for room between STEEL CAP (M. Rice) and GUILDED TIARA (J. Byrne), which shifted out slightly. J. Byrne, rider of GUILDED TIARA, was severely reprimanded and advised to exercise more care.

Approaching the home turn, SEAHAWK LASS was momentarily tightened for room by GUILDED TIARA (J. Byrne), which shifted in slightly.

Race 7: Prince Gauntlet Class 6 H'cap - 1500m.
1st - Argenterie 2nd - Lust For Victory 3rd - Discord 4th - Kid De Lago

SMART STRIKE was a late scratching at 8.20 a.m. on veterinary advice. Trainer S. Jones was advised that he would be required to provide a veterinary clearance for the horse prior to its next race start.

KID DE LAGO (C. Eaton) was slow to begin.

ARGENTERIE (K. Pope) shifted in near the 1000m. and made contact with the running rail.

Approaching the 500m., DISCORD shifted out and made contact with PERETTE (B. El-Issa).

LUST FOR VICTORY (M. Cahill) was held up for clear running from shortly after entering the straight until after passing the 250m..

Approaching the 250m., SIGHING (T.Pannell) was buffeted for room between MR BENSON (R. McMahon), which shifted out, and DISCORD (J. Byrne), which shifted in, and as a result SIGHING became unbalanced and had to be steadied. Apprentice R. McMahon and jockey J. Byrne were both reprimanded for allowing their mounts to shift ground and advised to exercise more care in future.

Race 8: Just Now Class 3 F & M H'cap - 1200m.
1st - A Fairy's Kiss 2nd - Volcanic Angel 3rd - Diamond Bullett 4th - Initials

Trainer L. Fraser was fined $200 for the late scratching of CAFFE FRANCAIS at 9.08 a.m..

A. Pattillo was examined by the club's doctor after riding in race 6 and stood down from his engagement on TEA BISCUIT. As no other senior rider was available, stewards permitted apprentice R. McMahon as the replacement rider for that filly.

MISS HOEY MOEY (G. Baker) and DIAMOND BULLET (B. El-Issa) were slow to begin.

MISS HOEY MOEY commenced to overrace shortly after passing the 1000m., and near the 700m. and approaching the 600m. had to be steadied off the heels of INITIALS (M. Cahill).

Over the concluding stages, INITIALS had to be steadied when unable to obtain clear running to the inside of VOLCANIC ANGEL (C. Eaton).
