SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS

From Race 6, SCTC meeting, 18.9.05

Jockey A. Pattillo was fined $100 after being unable to fulfil his engagement in race 6 due to being overweight. (AR120(b).

From GCTC Trials, 20.9.05
Trainer G. Heinrich pleaded guilty to a charge under 175(k), in that her negligence led to her presenting DAMNATION instead of GENUITY for Trial 8 at the Gold Coast Turf Club on 20.9.05. Mrs Heinrich was fined the sum of $500.

Apprentice R. McMahon was fined $100 for failing to produce a letter of authority from his master - LR58(1).


Race 1: Racetree 3yo & Up Maiden Plate - 1500m.
1st - Latin Tango 2nd - Major Piercing 3rd - Hot Air 4th - Retrenched

TIVOLI THEATRE was a late scratching at 9.58 a.m. after that horse was injured when being loaded on to its float.

ALVALDI (T.Pannell) was slow to begin.

NOTHIN' LEICA CUZA (A. Pattillo) and RETRENCHED (S. Katsidis) came together on jumping away.

GOODISON (M. Crawford) and HOT AIR (S. Galloway) bumped on jumping away.

BEAU VELOUR (S. Seamer) was caught wide in the early stages.

When the pace steadied near the 1100m., LATIN TANGO (R. Plumb) shifted out and momentarily forced VOGUE (N. Jolly) wider on the track. RETRENCHED (S. Katsidis), which was following, had to be steadied as a consequence.

Near the 700m., NOBLE ONE (K. Pope) ran up on to the heels of NOTHIN' LEICA CUZA and had to be checked. At the same stage, RETRENCHED had to be steadied off the heels of VOGUE (N. Jolly). RETRENCHED was then obliged to race wide for the remainder of the event.


Race 2: Henieken 3yo & Up Maiden H'cap - 1000m.
1st - My Son Day 2nd - Caos Cross 3rd - Riddles 4th - Billy Ripper

CAOS CROSS (M. Cahill) was slow to begin.

SINGING SANDS (A. Pattillo) jumped away awkwardly.

OUR HEART THROB (S. Drake) and SPECTACULAR BANKER (T. Unwin) were severely tightened for room on jumping away between BILLY RIPPER (K. Pope), which shifted out, and STRATEGIC SPRING (T.Pannell), which shifted in. In this incident, OUR HEART THROB lost considerable ground.

Approaching the 700m., BILLY RIPPER (K. Pope) commenced to race ungenerously and had to be steadied off the heels of SMILES BETTER (R. Plumb). BILLY RIPPER then commenced to hang out for the remainder of the event. Trainer P. Cunningham was advised that BILLY RIPPER would be required to trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.

Near the 150m., SMILES BETTER (R. Plumb) was impeded for a run between STRATEGIC SPRING (T.Pannell) and KAITEKI DANCING (N. Thomas), which shifted out slightly.

Near the 100m., WATCH OUT SANTA (R. Mason) was momentarily inconvenienced by KAITEKI DANCING, which shifted in whilst under pressure.

A post-race veterinary examination of SINGING SANDS revealed the gelding to be slightly shin sore in the off fore leg. Trainer T. Catip was advised that he would be required to produce a veterinary clearance for SINGING SANDS prior to its next race start.


Race 3: Lyndhurst Stud Class 4 H'cap - 1500m.
1st - Engineer 2nd - La Baladine 3rd - Charlie Gun 4th - Tom Kitten

TOM KITTEN (N. Thomas) and LA BALADINE (D. Coleman) were slow to begin.

Near the 800m., LORD ADMIRAL (R. Mason), which was overracing, had to be steadied off the heels of TOM KITTEN.

LA BALADINE (D. Coleman) was inclined to overrace in the middle stages.


Race 4: Greenslopes Private Hospital 3yo Maiden Plate - 1200m.
1st - Epson Races 2nd - Lunchtime Red 3rd - Streets Of Fire 4th - Doppelt

Trainer G. Heinrich was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for TAX EVASION by the prescribed time.

R. Mason was dislodged from LORD ADMIRAL at the barriers without any apparent injury and was able to fulfil her engagement.

MIDDLE EAST (T.Pannell) jumped away awkwardly and shifted in, making contact with IN THE GLASSHOUSE (M. Cahill).

TAX EVASION (C. Whiteley) jumped away awkwardly and shifted out, making contact with STRIKING POINT (R. McMahon).

On jumping away, PURE DANCER (D. Gay) was tightened for room between RETAINER (R. Plumb) and DOPPELT (B. Pengelly), which shifted in.

Shortly after the start, STRIKING POINT had to be steadied when tightened for room between TAX EVASION, which was taken out slightly by MIDDLE EAST, and DARFUR (N. Jolly), which was inclined to lay in.

Near the 1000m., DARFUR shifted out, resulting in GARGANTUAN having to be steadied to avoid that horse's heels. DARFUR and GARGANTUAN were then forced to race wide for the remainder of the event.

TAX EVASION was inclined to overrace in the early and middle stages.

PURE DANCER (D. Gay) made the 600m. crossing awkwardly.

BEAU CELEB (S. Seamer) was inclined to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages.

A post race veterinary examination of TAX EVASION failed to reveal any abnormality.


Race 5: Mercedes-Benz Class 3 H'cap - 1830m.
1st - Coolibah Kid 2nd - Madison King 3rd - Telemont 4th - British Storm

CANIONA (T. Unwin) and SIRGUN (K. Pope) were slow to begin.

Approaching the 1400m. when MACY DEE (J. Taylor) steadied the speed, COOLIBAH KID (M. Cahill), MADISON KING (B. Stewart) and CANIONA (T. Unwin) had to be steadied as a consequence.

BRITISH STORM (R. Plumb) and LARA'S WAY (B. Pengelly) were forced to race wide in the early and middle stages.

From after passing the 350m. until near the 200m., TELEMONT (S. Seamer) was held up for clear running.

Near the 200m., SIGRUN had to be steadied to avoid the heels of TELEMONT, which shifted out to improve around the heels of BRITISH STORM.

HOT ANCHOR (M. Lister) was forced to race wide throughout.

S. Seamer, rider of TELEMONT, was fined $100 for weighing in in excess of half a kilogram overweight.


Race 6: Traveltrain Holidays F&M Class 3 H'cap - 1200m.
1st - Coincidental 2nd - Doubtful Choice 3rd - Salleache 4th - Miss Glamour Puss

Shortly after the start, COINCIDENTAL had to be steadied when tightened for room between FAIRWEATHER (C. Small) and DOUBTFUL CHOICE (R. McMahon), which shifted in.

Near the 1100m., FAIRWEATHER had to be steadied when tightened for room between TUSCAN JAZZ (K. Yoshida) and DOUBTFUL CHOICE (R. McMahon), which was inclined to lay in.

Approaching the 1000m., RIPPA ROYALE (J. Taylor) was buffeted for room between MISS GLAMOUR PUSS (M. Cahill) and TUSCAN JAZZA, which was inclined to shift in and away from DOUBTFUL CHOICE, which was laying in. In this incident, RIPPA ROYALE had to be steadied.

After passing the 900m., SALLEACHE (A. Erhart) was inclined to overrace at the heels of DOUBTFUL CHOICE.


Race 7: Pink Slipper Day CG&E Class 3 H'cap - 1200m.
1st - Pontiaire 2nd - Tranquil Blue 3rd - Mantle 4th - Milliardaire

As jockey A. Pattillo was overweight, K. Pope was substituted as the rider of SIGRUN (Race 5) and T. Unwin as the rider of JYI'S PROSPECT. A. Pattillo was fined the sum of $300.

MILLIARDAIRE (K. Pope) jumped inwards at the start and made contact with TEAKER'S BLUE STAR (J. Taylor).

BREAKFAST TALK (R. Plumb) jumped inwards at the start and inconvenienced JYI'S PROSPECT (T. Unwin).

AIR SPECIFIC (R. Mason) jumped awkwardly.

After passing the 700m., MILLIARDAIRE raced ungenerously on the heels of AIR SPECIFIC.

WINNUNGA (S. Richardson) was held up for clear running in the early stages of the straight.

Near the 350m., MILIARDAIRE was disappointed for a run between MANTLE and TRANQUIL BLUE (R. Pittman) and as a result had to alter course.

MANTLE (S. Galloway) was forced to race wide throughout.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of O'MEE BOY, M. Cahill stated he was disappointed with the gelding's performance and stated that the horse never travelled comfortably in the early stages however he was of the opinion that O'MEE BOY travelled well in the middle stages. M. Cahill added that shortly after straightening, he elected to pull the gelding out wide to allow the gelding clear running, however O'MEE BOY failed to respond to his riding. A veterinary examination of O'MEE BOY failed to reveal any abnormality.

S. Seamer was questioned regarding the disappointing performance of MR BARLOW. He stated that the horse never travelled well throughout the event and was at a loss to explain the horse's performance today. Trainer G. Ryan's representative Mr B. Hill stated that MR BARLOW has a tendency to lose concentration in trials and trackwork and in this preparation had performed disappointingly in trials prior to today's event. A veterinary examination of MR BARLOW failed to reveal any abnormality.
