SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS

As M. Cahill was ill and P. Cuddihy was injured, riding changes were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet.

Race 1: Arwon Class 4 H'cap - 2256m.
1st - Aqua D'or 2nd - Look Here Tay 3rd - King Cartier 4th - What's The Scoop

SOVEREIGN CLAUSE (J. Bowditch), WHAT'S THE SCOOP (S. Seamer) and KING CARTIER (R. Plumb) jumped awkwardly.

When questioned as to the seemingly improved performance of AQUA D'OR, trainer R. O'Connor stated that the gelding was better suited under the conditions of the race today in that the horse relishes rain-affected tracks, and with no genuine leader in the race, he felt that the AQUA D'OR was suited by being able to lead and dictate the tempo of the race. The explanation was noted.

Race 2: Even Stevens 3yo & Up Maiden H'cap - 1000m.
1st - River Jordan 2nd - Totems 3rd - A Secret Kept 4th - Riviera Sur Mer

MACHTIG KAKI SAYA (D. Griffin) was slow to begin.

ORIENTAL HEIGHTS (C. Whiteley) jumped away awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, ORIENTAL HEIGHTS was tightened for room between RIVIERA SUR MER (J. Byrne), which was taken in slightly by COMMAND AND OBEY and RIVER JORDAN (G. Colless), which shifted out of its own accord.

Near the 700m., FIRE A WARNING (S. Apthorpe) was reluctant to hold its position between CAREBO (J. Taylor) and LEBIKYL (J. Warrington) and became momentarily unbalanced.

At the 500m., FIRE A WARNING, when racing greenly, shifted in and made contact with the hind quarters of LEBIKYL.

A SECRET KEPT was obliged to race wide throughout.

LEBIKYL lost its off fore plate in running.

Race 3: Hi Jinx 3yo Maiden H'cap - 1200m.
1st - Feelin Dandy 2nd - Only Heresae 3rd - Meadow Whisper 4th - Lady Beaufort

Trainer P. Facoory was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for LADY BEAUFORT by the prescribed time.

FEELIN DANDY (R. Mason) jumped awkwardly.

Approaching the 1000m., LADY BEAUFORT (B. El-Issa) commenced to race fiercely and shifted out, contacting the hind quarters of HOPPO (J. Byrne), which raced ungenerously rounding the first turn.

HOPPO made the crossing inside the 600m. awkwardly and shifted out, taking CUT THE CHEEK (J. Taylor) wider.

LADY BEAUFORT had to be eased away from the heels of SQUARE LEG (S. Galloway) near the 550m..

MEADOW WHISPER (S. Seamer) raced greenly in the straight and shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages.

Race 4: Galilee Maiden Plate - 1400m.
1st - Gotheholehog 2nd - Chase The Dragon 3rd - Polar Hut 4th - Ortello

ROJAH FLOWER (T. Treichel) commenced to hang out in the middle stages and the horse hung badly rounding the home turn, proving difficult for jockey T. Treichel to ride out over the concluding stages. A warning was issued to the connections of ROJAH FLOWER in relation to the racing manners of ROJAH FLOWER.

POLAR HUT (J. Taylor) and CHASE THE DRAGON (S. Seamer) raced wide in the early and middle stages.

MR DEEJAY (J. Byrne) was inclined to lay in in the early stages of the straight and near the 100m. was disappointed for a run between POLAR HUT (J. Taylor) and KURDAD (B. El-Issa).

When questioned regarding the improved performance of GOTHEHOLEHOG, trainer B. Brown stated that at the horse's previous start it had been caught wide and was unable to obtain the lead, however in being stepped up to 1400m. today, he felt that the gelding was better suited by being able to lead. He was also of the opinion that GOTHEHOLEHOG appeared to be suited on the rain-effected track.

Race 5: Doriemus Welter - 1600m.
1st - Hissy Fit 2nd - Picablu 3rd - Diurnal 4th - Caprill

CLANGER (R. Mason) began awkwardly.

DIURNAL (S. Galloway) was inclined to overrace in the early and middle stages.

DIURNAL was momentarily held up rounding the home turn for a short distance.

Race 6: Think Big Class 3 H'cap - 1600m.
1st - La Bella Mer 2nd - Close The Deal 3rd - Tipo Bay 4th - Delago Dumper

IT'S ALL A GAME (T.Pannell) jumped away awkwardly.

After travelling a short distance, IT'S ALL A GAME (T.Pannell) and SHAKEEBA GAZE (B. Stewart) made heavy contact when both horses shifted ground slightly.

Leaving the 1300m., SHAKEEBA GAZE commenced to overrace and had to be steadied off the heels of TIPO BAY (S. Apthorpe).

Leaving the 1200m., SHAKEEBA GAZE improved on to the heels of CLOSE THE DEAL (G. Colless) and shifted out, hampering SHAKEEBA GAZE, which then raced ungenerously. SPRINT CAR (B. Pengelly), which was trailing, was inconvenienced in this incident and lost ground. SHAKEEBA GAZE (B. Stewart) then continued to race ungenerously and approaching the 800m. again had to be steadied off the heels of MR BEANWATER (J. Byrne). SPRINT CAR, which was following, was again inconvenienced.

ROI SOLEIL (B. El-Issa) was inclined to race ungenerously rounding the first turn.

An inquiry was opened into the riding of SPRINT CAR in the middle stages and the somewhat disappointing performance in that the horse did not finish the race off as expected. B. Pengelly stated that he had been instructed to position the horse where it was comfortable as it is not a brilliant beginner, and that in the middle stages he was shuffled back when the pace had steadied due to SHAKEEBA GAZE (B. Stewart) racing ungenerously. He added that whilst he allowed LA BELLA MER (R. McMahon) to move up on his outside prior to the crossing, he felt that the horse was not handling the going and he elected to follow SHAKEEBA GAZE through approaching the turn rather than take the horse wider on the track. He added he was of the opinion that SPRINT CAR was not travelling well enough, and on straightening the horse did not respond to his riding and finish the race off as expected. Trainer J. Wallace confirmed the instructions and indicated that SPRINT CAR would be sent for a spell.

It was reported following the race that the blinkers on ROI SOLEIL (B. El-Issa) shifted, interfering with the horse's vision. Trainer D. Forster was instructed to take the necessary measures to prevent a recurrence.

Race 7: Rain Lover Class 3 H'cap - 1300m.
1st - A Sir La 2nd - Sky Mountain 3rd - Runobit 4th - Lutyens

A ROYAL TALE (J. Taylor) was tightened for room on jumping away between A SIR LA (J. Byrne) and STALWART QUEEN (T. Treichel), which shifted ground.

An inquiry has been opened into interference suffered by LEEDS UNITED (K. Wharton) near the 1200m.. After taking some evidence, the inquiry has been adjourned to a time and date to be fixed to enable T. Treichel, rider of STALWART QUEEN, who had left the track, to be present and provide evidence.

Race 8: Rising Fast Class 3 H'cap - 1000m.
1st - Piccohi 2nd - Taabinga Lass 3rd - Rustic Rambler 4th - Citico

DIVINE ETOILE (R. Plumb) was a little slow to begin.

THE BIG EASY (P. Hammersley) jumped awkwardly.

DIVINE ETOILE raced in restricted room to the inside of THE BIG EASY, which was cramped for room by CITICO (J. Taylor) near the 600m..

MIRACLE SOUND (J. Byrne) was inclined to lay in on straightening and near the 200m. raced awkwardly at the heels of MISS HOEY MOEY (R. Pittman).

Near the finish line, MISS HOEY MOEY had to be steadied to avoid the heels of DIVINE ETOILE, which shifted out.

ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED
